I love my Home Bargains tree so much I put it up in November – people either say it’s ‘perfect’ or ruined Christmas
SPREADING festive cheer six weeks before Christmas didn’t go exactly as planned for one woman.
Simone Dawson was delighted to share a photo of her tree, but trolls weren’t impressed with its film-inspired decorations.
It showed her artificial snowy Christmas tree placed on a rug with The Grinch’s eyes, while the character also inspired the baubles and other trinkets.
“All Home Bargains [heart face emoji],” she captioned the post.
Hundreds of people were quick to like the photo and eager to recreate it in their own homes.

One person said “Looks beautiful,” while another described Home Bargains as having an “amazing range” of decorations this year.
“Omg this is amazing,” one person said.
“I've found the perfect tree,” another commented.
“I want to do my tree like this,” a third wrote.
“Gutted I can’t find the extendable Grinch’s anywhere,” another chimed in.
Many commenters tagged friends as they gushed about how impressed they were.
However, amid the flood of positive comments were also trolls complaining about Simone’s choice of decorations.
Other responses to the post left mocking laughing emojis.
“Whatever happened to the beautiful traditional English Xmas tree... everything is so Americanised now.. soon you'll all be saying HAPPY HOLIDAYS,” one critic said.
Simone didn’t hit back at the trolls or reply to comments asking how much she spent on her Christmas decorations.
However, many of the items she used have proven popular with Home Bargains shoppers.
The that she placed on either side of the tree were £14.99 before they sold out online.
The is still available to buy and is priced at £7.99, while a 4-pack of is £4.99 each.
Home Bargains’ is £34.99.
The debate over Simone’s choice of decorations comes after Joanne Rayworth also went viral with her tree on Facebook.
She opted for metallic blue, pink, and silver artificial foliage and trinkets.
However, trolls described the decorations as looking “tacky and cheap.”

Joanne hit back saying that people are “entitled to their opinions” but confessed she was upset by their comments.
“One person said it was the worst tree she had ever seen. Really? That was just spiteful and hurt,” she said.
