Scotland’s cheating capital revealed with highest number of people having affairs
AFFAIRS website Illicit Encounters has revealed the cheating capital of Scotland.
New figures show that a few unlikely locations are particularly unfaithful.
Their study found that people in Motherwell are most likely to be cheating on their partner,
The North Lanarkshire town, which has an adult population of around 28,000, is Scotland’s most adulterous place to live.
Using data from its 1.5m members in the UK, the study found that 5.1 per cent of adults in Motherwell were having a fling - that’s just under one-in-20.
It falls into ninth place on the overall UK Cheat List, with Aberdeen and Forfar not far behind in the scandal stakes with 4.8 and 4.4 per cent.

The study also revealed Forfar was the most faithful place in Scotland, with just 0.5 per cent of the 13,000 adult population cheating - that’s just 65 folk.
Motherwell local Chris said he’d had an affair last year - but regretted it after his missus found out.
He said: “I’d met this lovely lady online and we met up about a year after first getting chatting.
“There were instant sparks, but we were both married - and our partners soon found out.

“Her husband left her, but my wife stuck by me - I’ve learned my lesson.”
Donna, who is in her 40s and from Weybridge, Surrey, said she’d been having a fling behind her hubby’s back for the past two years.
Weybridge came out on top in the full UK standings - with six per cent of the adult population in the middle of an affair.
She said: “My husband works in banking and he’s at work all hours of the day, so I’m usually alone from 8am until 9pm every day…and that makes for a lot of spare time.
“We have no children, so I go and meet friends some days, and other days I meet up with my secret lover.
“He’s married too, but he’s never going to leave his wife and I’ll probably never leave my husband, so we just have fun in the free time we have.”
She added: “A lot of my girlfriends - and some of my male friends - aren’t exactly faithful either - maybe it’s something in the water around here!”
