In his viral , Zachary Pozniak (), who describes himself as "New York's finest dry cleaner," talked his followers through the process.

He explained that the hack works on a variety of materials, including fleece and Sherpa.

Before he began, he showed his audience the before and after results of a coat he had recently worked on.

For his first step, Zachary advised his followers to pick up de-pilling comb to "break up the party."

You can pick up a and lint shaver for £6.16 from Amazon.

He also recommended having a lint brush or roller on standby for the task.

As Zachary worked to break up the gathered fabric, which he compared to "little mountains," he explained why they form.

"Basically, with use, the fibres of fleece start hanging out and talking and form little groups," he said.

Combing through material helps to separate these groups, making the fabric feel softer.

However, the dry cleaner warned his audience against making an easy mistake that can damage their clothes even further.

People are just realising what the ‘no chicken’ symbol on washing labels actually means - and it does make a lot of sense

"Please be careful because de-pilling combs will remove fibres from your garment so be gentle," he said.

Finally, Zachary showed his followers how "a little combing does make a big difference" as he held up the jumper.

TikTok users shared their thoughts on the advice in the comments section.

"Dry cleaning is an art and blessed when you find a really good one. I have learned so much from your page. Thanks for sharing," wrote one viewer.

"Also don’t use laundry softener or sheets on the sherpas it’s waxy and adds to the pilling," suggest another follower.
