A WOMAN has revealed that she has given her kitchen a ‘tacky’ upgrade, despite being warned against it. 

Rebecca Boxley, a DIY fan who is on a mission to transform her rented property into a home using budget-friendly, affordable decor finds, explained that people warned her not to paint her kitchen cupboards, but she didn’t listen.

Using cheap paint from the high-street, the blonde-haired beauty got to work on her kitchen overhaul - and the result has left many open-mouthed. 

Posting on social media, the savvy mum, who is from the UK, gave her followers a before and after look at her kitchen.

The content creator revealed that people warned her: “You can’t paint your kitchen cupboards…it’s tacky.”

But to this, she confidently clapped back and snapped: “Watch me b***h.”

In the short video, we saw Rebecca’s kitchen prior to its makeover.

It initially had quite a dated feel to it, with boring brown cupboards and black work surfaces.

However, thanks to a lick of paint, the kitchen looks like a totally different space, as the dull cupboards are now a gorgeous grey that cleanfluencer Mrs Hinch is sure to approve of.

Rebecca confirmed that to keep costs low, she used the in the shade Dove Grey, from Wickes

The self undercoating, quick drying, and washable paint costs just £18 and has totally transformed Rebecca’s small space. 

But Rebecca’s kitchen overhaul didn’t stop there.

In addition to painting her kitchen cupboards, she also gave her counter tops a fresh new feel too.

But rather than splashing the cash on posh new counter tops, she confirmed that she used self-adhesive vinyl wrap to give her kitchen a mega makeover, without breaking the bank.

You can buy such vinyl wrap from a variety of different high-street retailers, including B&M and B&Q, but this DIY enthusiast confirmed that she got hers from - the largest UK stockist of d-c-fix vinyl, where prices range from £12. 

BIG DIVIDE

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @, has clearly left many totally stunned, as it has quickly racked up 115,100 views. 

But social media users were left totally divided with Rebecca’s kitchen project.

Whilst some were impressed with the ‘beautiful’ space, others warned her that the paint would ‘scratch off’.
