The bed was lavishly set up with dozens of cream balloons and on the pristine king sized bed was a stack of presents.

The dad said: "So my wife and I recently had a baby together, and as a thank you to her for birthing the most perfect daughter, I wanted to get her some push presents.

"She told me not to, but I had to surprise her anyways."

The first gift he picked up for his wife was a stunning Rolex watch.

He bagged the Datejust watch with a 32mm face in silver and had a mint green dial with diamonds encrusted over the rim.

Online the price of one of these watches cost a staggering £5,000, but the generous dad didn't stop there.

Alexander decided he needed to get her a matching bag for her new watch as well, so the obvious choice was a Hermes Birkin.

While he didn't mention what Birkin it was, they usually retail for around £30,000 so we're sure his wife will be loving her new arm candy.

He continued: "Pregnancy is no joke. And fellas, if you're listening, get your girl a push present.

"They deserve it, because birthing a child is no joke. Love."

People were quick to share their thoughts in the comments, with some saying the money he spent could do better elsewhere.

One person wrote: "Or put the money into a college fund."

Another commented: "Please tell me this is satire."

What is a push present?

Push Presents have become a regular sight on social media, here we look at when the trend started.

A push present, also known as a baby bauble, is a gift given to a mother by her partner to mark the occasion of her giving birth to their child. The present is typically given shortly after the birth and can range from jewellery to other thoughtful gifts. The tradition is relatively modern and has gained popularity in recent years.

"I hope you are going to help her with the baby. Would be better than a bunch of expensive stuff," penned a third.

Meanwhile, many praised the dad for his thoughtful gifts, a fourth said: "Husband of the year not just because of the gifts but your realisation that pregnancy is no joke."

"May this kind of love find me,” said a fifth.
