The mother shared several photos of her home transformation on Facebook’s group, which has over 2 million members.

The post went viral as she showed snaps of the once drab room with blue walls and grey furniture.

A baby rocker chair was the only item that showed the family home had any children.

The dreary living room decor was swapped for bright colours and endless displays of toys and books.

Flowers were stuck to the window and a slide was positioned in one corner of the carefully curated space.

“Turned my lounge into a big playroom,” the mum wrote in the caption of the post.

“My partner built the playhouse himself to cover up the fireplace then we added a slide, some fairy lights & lots of colour.

“Love how it’s turned out.”

Over 1,500 people liked the post and many were quick to share their opinions in the comment section.

“A very selfless thing to do for your children & those in your care. I love it & it looks like it’s going to be a happy place. So much better than a boring standard living room,” one person said.

We transformed the cupboard under the stairs into a dreamy pink ice cream playhouse - it was easy and people say it’s the ‘cutest thing they’ve ever seen’

“Wow, this is amazing lucky kids! Wish I had something like this as a kid I'd have lived in there,” another wrote.

“Wow I absolutely love this and better than some nurseries,” a third commented.

Many responses to the post confessed they were surprised the mother removed the TV from the room.

2024’s Top Trending Colours for Interior Design

Homebase has revealed the official trending colours for this year.

To predict the top shades of 2024, sales data at Homebase analysed 5 colours that have surged in popularity with customers.

Copper, pink and black are predicted to be the hottest colours on Brit’s walls this year, while bathrooms are seeing a surprising rise in terracotta colour schemes.

The top five trending colours for 2024 are:

  1. Copper (+57%)
  2. Pink (+38%)
  3. Black (+34%)
  4. Green (+29%)
  5. Orange (+27%)

Copper has replaced rose gold, whilst blush is the new magnolia, and Brits are also going bold by slapping black paint all over their walls.

Green is always popular colour, but the shade ‘Fresh Herb’ – a versatile, pale grey-toned green - is hitting hundreds of customers baskets.

Meanwhile, terracotta is taking over with ‘Frosted Papaya’, a peachy orange shade dominating bathrooms.

Others said despite being impressed by the transformation they wouldn’t be copying the idea.

“So is this now your lounge or do you have a separate lounge? I love the idea but I couldn’t…I’m too selfish… I need my space,” one person said.

“I am with u. I love my kids but I love my lounge too. lol. Just simple things relaxing watching TV in a playroom it looks fantastic but kids and adults need their own space,” another commented.

“Obviously just my sensories but I would find this impossible to live with!  It would boggle my brain but fair play to you! I really admire your confidence,” a third chimed in.
