I didn’t have £500 to splurge on a Dyson Airwrap so paid £20 for the B&M dupe – yes it smokes but my curls last all day
BEAUTY buffs are rushing to B&M for a viral Dyson Airwrap dupe that makes curls "last all day".
It comes after hair-fluencer Jessie Kenniford shared a video of her using the £19.99 copycat of Dyson’s £479.99 innovative tool.
Launched in 2018, the first-of-its-kind Airwrap promised to provide bouncy blowouts on the daily with minimal damage to the hair.
Platforms like TikTok, Instagram and YouTube played a huge role in its viral success.
Influencers and beauty enthusiasts frequently shared their results, tutorials and unboxings, which created a wave of interest and curiosity.
But where do we turn when forking out nearly £500 on a hair tool just isn’t realistic?

Luckily, we can turn to B&M.
The British bargain store’s ELLE beauty range includes the £19.99 Elle 3 in 1 Hair Styling Set, which is a dupe for the luxury tool.
It comes with three attachments: a 30mm curling barrel for left side, 30mm curling barrel for the right side and a blow dryer attachment.
It’s also complete with three temperature settings.
Content creator Jessie, who’s also a self-employed nail technician, shared a video of her using the Airwrap copycat.
She penned on TikTok: “POV: You don’t have £500 to spend on the Dyson Airwrap so you buy the £20 dupe from B&M.”
“I have to do mine in really small sections as my hair is quite fine and doesn’t hold curls as well as others may do,” Jessie adds.
“But this works perfectly fine for me and lasts all day.”
It has a tendency to “smoke” if left on for too long, but you can alleviate this by “turning it off and on so it’s not running constantly”, she warns.
“Mine does smoke if I leave it on for a bit too long when using the curling attachments, Jessie says.
“But at the end of the day, you get what you pay for.”
Unlike traditional styling tools that rely on extreme heat, Dyson’s Airwraps and its dupes use the "Coanda effect" to style hair by attracting it to the barrel and wrapping it using air.
REAL: £35 DUPE: , £10. These two share a similar green hue, as well as the same long-wearing, mattifying properties - although, E.l.f’s is so popular it’s just as hard to get hold of.
REAL: , £28 DUPE: , £8.99. The shades of these two lipsticks are virtually identical on the lips, although while Charlotte Tilbury’s is matte, the L’Oreal Paris Lipstick has a satin finish - which actually makes it more comfortable if you’re wearing all day.
REAL: , £40 DUPE: , £6.99. While they don’t look alike from the outside, the formula, consistency and staying power of both foundations is pretty similar - unfortunately, the Collection only comes in 20 shades vs Estee Lauder's 60 options.
REAL: , £20 DUPE: £2.50. There’s a whole Reddit thread dedicated to this dupe, so you know it’s got to be good. They both have a waxy consistency and added fibres to make brows look fuller. I have to say, the shade range is far better with Boy Brow, but if you’re brunette, there’s plenty of Essence shade options to try.
