AN EXPERT has warned that many of us have been storing our milk in the fridge wrong, and could be putting ourselves and our families at risk.

The shelves on the fridge door are the perfect size to fit cartons of milk in, and seem as though they have been made especially for just that.

However, TV presenter and 'Queen of Clean' Lynsey Crombie has revealed that this is the worst spot for you to store your milk.

Appearing on This Morning, Lynsey asked the hosts where they keep their milk, to which they replied "the door".

However, the cleaning expert then revealed that the door is known to be the warmest part of the fridge, so milk should never be kept there.

This is because the warmer temperature could cause the milk to go off quicker.

Instead, she said that milk should be stored on the bottom shelf, next to meat, as this part of the fridge has the lowest temperature.

"Not many people know this", she said.

She added that the top shelf of the fridge is perfect for deli good like ham and cheese as this is slightly warmer.

She then went on to explain that the fridge doors should exclusively be used for condiments.

The This Morning hosts seemed shocked by the revelation, and the clip has since gone viral on social media, with people appearing to be divided on the issue.
