MANY parents decide to name their little ones after something or something they love.

But one mum has been mercilessly slammed for doing just that after she named her twins after character's from the popular animated film, Tangled.

This comes after the mum's cousin took to Facebook to share the names, leaving people stunned.

"My cousin has twin sons named Flynn and Ryder," she wrote in the viral post.

At first, she confessed she thought it was simply a "funny coincidence" that her cousin had picked two names that are the same the lead from the 2011 Disney flick.

"She looked at me kind of ashamed and whispered 'I just really like Tangled'", the post continued.

In the film, Flynn Ryder is a good-hearted thief who goes on to capture the heart of Rapunzel.

After the post was shared on Facebook, many people had different opinions on the matter, with many stating that the mum went too far with the Disney-inspired names.

"She's like a five-year-old playing dolls," when commented.

And another had an even more harsh response: "She should have her tubes tied for this."

"I'll tie her tubes myself, I've got YouTube, I'll figure it out," someone else added.

"Why do you have to name your children after movies and TV shows you like?" someone else mused.

Meanwhile, plenty of people defended the mum for picking the names.

"Tangled is dope. Approved," one wrote.

"Neither of the names are tragedies, it’s just unfortunate that she gave her twins matching names, super cliché," another said.

"I also love Tangled so I just can't see anything wrong here," someone else added.

But the mum isn't the only parent who has come under fire recently for their baby name choices, in fact, one mum was slammed for giving her little one a name that sounds like a "troll".

This comes after a Reddit user explained that she came across the unusual moniker when her former classmate posted about her newborn.

"[I] decided to check Facebook for the first time in awhile and the first thing I see is that a girl I went to middle school with named her daughter Creeklee," the poster wrote.

"I think that is the worst name I heard so far."

She pointed out that people seem to be following the same trend when naming their children.

"You can’t put 'ly,' 'lee,' or 'leigh' behind any word and make it a name," she said.

"I’m imagining a cartoonish river troll. 'Oh, your shovel went missing? Must of been Ole Creeklee,'" joked one reader.

"This sounds more like sounds birds could make. Cree! Klee! Cree! Klee!" wrote a third person.

"My arthritis is causing my joints to go all sorts of creekly," commented another Redditor.
