She said: "I'm a dog trainer who's been handling dogs for over 8 years and I have met hundreds of breeds over the years, so these are the breeds that I would not recommend for first time dog owners."

First on her list was the Australian Shepherd, a herding breed.

She said these gods had high needs and high energy - meaning you have to spend most of your time providing them with stimulation to stop them acting up.

The dog trainer also put Border Collie's on the list for the exact same reason.

Ingrid added: "If you're not constantly ready to work with your dog, Border Collie is not a good option."

She said German Shepherd's seem to be a popular choice for first-time owners as many people grew up with them as family pets.

But the dog pro warned that they are very territorial and very specific with their humans.

She continued: "It's a lot of dog to take on and most people just aren't prepared."

She revealed Huskies were also popular among first-time owners but she cautioned people to stay away from them.

Ingrid explained: "Huskies are just some of the wildest temperament dogs that exist and if you're prepared to have a dog that's just gonna be wanting to do what it wants to do all the time fine but I don't think the right dog for a first time dog owner."

The dog trainers said Belgian Malinois are also not the right dog for first-time owners and finally, the Doodle.

The dog pro said the main reason for this was that they could not be ethically breed.

The clip posted to her TikTok account went viral with over 2 million views and people quickly took to the comments to share their thoughts.

One person wrote: "Yes yes yes! I volunteer at an animal shelter and every single breed you mentioned comes in with behavioural issues and people have no clue how to handle them."
