Molly-Mae hits back at Maebe ‘rip-off’ critics & claims £65 shirt is ‘two-in-one’, but fans say it could be ‘from Asda’
MOLLY-MAE Hague has been facing criticism over the prices of her Maebe clothing range since its launch last week.
But she's now hit back at the outrage by insisting many of the items are suitable for a multitude of occasions.
"Maebe is all about super versatile pieces," she said.
"So with the All Tied Up shirt, we wanted to give you two shirts in one.
"We've incorporated a tie inside the shirt, which when it is tied, it creates a super different silhouette.

"It makes it really figure hugging."
Molly continued to say that she wears it tied up for a "more dressy look", making it "nice and figure hugging".
"And then for day to day wear, I like to have it undone and super casual looking," she added.
The shirt has "oversized shoulder pads", which helps create a "really boxy effect", which Molly called "so flattering".
And it also has "really deep cuffs", which the former Love Island star said she "just adores".
"This shirt is your ultimate looking put together staple in your wardrobe," she concluded.
While lots of Molly's fans have done their best to grab as many items from the range as they could afford, others have been unimpressed with the offerings - especially the high prices.
And the critics took to the comments section of Maebe's video, with one writing sarcastically: "Maebe it looks like an Asda shirt!"
"Maebe explain why your charging crazy prices for synthetic material?" another questioned.
"I had this exact shirt in high school as part of my uniform," a third insisted.
"Can find this in my dad’s wardrobe," someone else insisted.
However, others were on hand to defend Molly and the Maebe designs.
A Molly-Mae fan's opinion on the Maebe range, and its prices
EVER since Molly-Mae Hague, 25, walked into the Love Island villa back in 2019, I’ve always been a mega fan.
After hearing the news that she was coming out with a fashion brand, of course I was excited.
But as much as I hate to admit it, I’m disappointed.
I understand that she’s launched Maebe as a more high class brand. I know it’s not going to be Shein quality.
But with prices varying from £35 to £140, I’m definitely not impressed.
Maebe’s “ultimate blazer” is priced at an eye-watering £140, whilst a very simple, plain white tee is a whopping £35.
Not only this, but the “contour popper top” is £50, and a seemingly boring white shirt will set you back a whopping £65.
And if that wasn’t bad enough, £90 for a pair of jeans? I understand paying £50 for a pair of good quality denims, but £90?!
That’s incredibly steep considering you can get Levi’s, a well-established brand that’s been going for donkey years, for just a tenner more.
So, will I be buying anything from Maebe? The only thing I can say to that is Maebe (definitely) not.

"Maebe all you haters should shop elsewhere then if you're not gonna buy anything," one hit back.

"This brand is so elegant, old money and classy if you don’t understand and see that Maebe it’s not for you period!" another agreed.
"Can’t wait for restock!!! Love the items! Not only sustainable but everyday items! My order arrives tomorrow," a third gushed.
