I used a £9 B&Q buy to transform my kitchen – people say it looks ‘basic’ and ‘tacky’, but it’s so cheap I don’t care
A WOMAN has revealed that she used a cheap buy from B&Q to transform her kitchen.
But whilst Chloe, 22, is thrilled with her kitchen’s fresh new look, not everyone was as keen.
Chloe took to social media to share a close-up before and after look at her kitchen, but it’s left people totally divided.
Whilst some thought it looked ‘amazing’ and was much ‘better’ than before, others hailed the new kitchen as ‘basic’, ‘awful’ and ‘tacky’.
The young woman, who is from the UK, confirmed that she used self-adhesive vinyl wrap to transform her kitchen worktops from drab to fab.
What was once brown countertops that weren’t to Chloe’s taste, has since been given an impressive overhaul.

Alongside her clip, the DIY enthusiast wrote: “POV: You took a trip to B&Q and bought three rolls of adhesive vinyl…”
Chloe then shared the process of using the vinyl wrap to give her countertops a fresh glow up.
Thanks to her cheap buys, which range from just £9 from B&Q and come in a variety of different colours and styles, Chloe now has grey worktops that are sure to be Mrs Hinch approved.
Thrilled with her kitchen’s makeover, Chloe beamed: “Highly recommend!!”
The TikTok clip, which was posted just three days ago under the username @, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed a whopping 402,400 views.
But social media users were left hugely divided by Chloe’s kitchen makeover and many flocked to the comments to share their thoughts.
One person said: “This looks so good!!”
Another added: “Way better.”
A third commented: “Looks amazing.”

“Why yall not wanting any character in your home? Like, the lovely wood and you cover it in grey sticky plastic? Damn.”
