A WOMAN has revealed how she doesn’t use heat on her hair anymore but simply uses socks to create perfect curly hair.
Beauty lover Erin showed how she made her hair looking like it had had a bouncy blow dry using an old pair lying around her home.
And thankfully, it doesn’t damage her locks at all, meaning it is currently in a very healthy state.
On her account, she wrote: “This is how I do my overnight heatless curls with socks.
“The two things you need are a hairbrush and a pair of socks.
“I do this on completely dry hair.

“ Here, I am biting the end of the sock. You can clip it in place, but honestly, it's just easier to bite it.
“Then I grab my hair all in one big chunk and wrap it around the sock.”
Erin advised that if you want tighter curls you should use smaller pieces of hair.
She continued: “But for that bouncy look, you need to use all your hair in one.

“Then I grab the end of the sock and put it into some sort of bun contraption thingy.
“And then I literally go to sleep, and that is it.
“I’m a side sleeper and this is a game changer for me.”
She showed herself taking off the socks in the morning to reveal her perfect curls.
Unsurprisingly, her video has racked up over 15,000 likes, and people were impressed.
One said: “so stunning.”
Another added: “So smart, they look so gorg.”
How can I fix dye damaged hair?
Have you taken the dye too far? There are some ways to fix this WITHOUT chopping the whole lot off.
- Give it a trim: we're not saying you have to cut the whole lot off, but you should trim the worst offending split ends.
- Ditch the heat products: stop straightening/curling your hair immediately.
- Stop dying your hair: step away from the bleach, and starting using ammonia-free semi-permanent dyes for now.
- Switch to sulfate free: use kinder, sulfate-free shampoos and conditions to repair your damaged hair. And don't shampoo more than twice a week if possible, because this strips damaged hair and makes it brittle.
- Treatment masks: use one of these hair treatment masks, listed below, to rejuvenate your locks.
- Sun protection: cover your damaged hair when sunbathing or swimming in a chlorinated pool, to prevent further damage.
- Eat your hair healthy: make sure you drink lots of water, eat Omega 3 fatty acids found in salmon, walnuts and flaxseeds, and green veg like spinach, kale, carrots and avocado. Some pre-natal supplements also promote hair growth.
However, a third joked: “Why do mine just never turn out like this.”
People also asked what hair products she uses on her beautiful hair, and thankfully Erin didn’t gatekeep the items.
She shared: “I swear by @RedkenUKI shampoo and conditioners!!
“I switch it up but my fav rn is the acidic colour gloss.
“I also use @Kérastase elixir and supplements from @Hair Gain.”
Professional tips
Hair expert Chris Wenzel said it might be tempting to quickly restyle your hair every day, but this is one of the biggest mistakes you can make.
He said: "Damage adds up really really quickly when you do that."
Your hair needs a break between using heat on it, so straightening it one day then touching it up the next will cause loads of problems including dry and brittle hair, split ends and frizz.

"Even if you just do the front section or that little thing that looks weird, it's going to cause damage."
Instead, Chris advises waiting three days before using any heat tools on your hair, and when you do use heat always use a protectant spray or cream.
The 4 stages of the hair growth cycle
Hair experts at Philip Kingsley shared the four stages of the hair growtn cycle are: Anagen, Catagen, Telogen and Exogen
Anagen Phase: Also known as the ‘Growth Phase’ or ‘Active Phase’, is when the cells in the root of your hair are most rapidly dividing so more new hair is formed.
During the Anagen Phase, hair grows around half an inch a month [about six inches a year], and faster in the summer than in winter.
This phase of the hair growth cycle lasts an average of three to five years.
Catagen Phase: Following the Anagen Phase, your hair cycle enters a short transitional phase known as the Catagen Phase, which signals the end of active hair growth and cuts individual hairs off from the blood supply and from the cells that produce new hair.
Approximately three percent of all hairs are in this stage at any time and it lasts for around 10 days.
Telogen Phase: The third stage of your natural hair growth cycle is the Telogen Phase, a resting period when strands remain in their follicles but are not actively growing.
An estimate of 10-15 percent of your hairs are in the Telogen Phase at any given moment.
The Telogen Phase lasts around three months or 100 days.
Exogen Phase: The final stage of the Hair Growth Cycle, when individual hair strands are released from their follicles and fall out.
Now the whole process begins again.
