A CELEBRITY makeup artist has revealed how she woke up one day to a random bald patch on her scalp - and since hasn’t been able to have it grow back.
Nicole suffers from Alopecia areata which means her hair is falling out in a circular patch on the top of her head.
Alopecia areata is a disease that happens when the immune system attacks hair follicles and causes hair loss.
Hair follicles are the structures in skin that form hair. While hair can be lost from any part of the body, alopecia areata usually affects the head and face.
It can also happen when the person has gone through a lot of stress or trauma, which Nicole believes has happened to her.
She took to of her hair loss journey which started at the beginning of the year.

However, after trying many different techniques - Nicole has found that very little works.
However, she is now discovering what not to use and wants to share that with her followers on her TikTok account called
At the beginning of her journey she invested in a “load of products” to see if they can regenerate the hair follicles.
Nicole, who uses a colour spray to cover the bald patch, first revealed that she was using VICHY Dercos Technique Anti Hair Loss Care for Women, which costs £54.64 from Amazon.

It is a 21 day treatment, but they recommend using it over three months.
She also uses a scalp massager really lightly to massage the product into the hair, before then adding Rosemary oil in sections and repeating with the massager.
She then leaves it in the hair overnight, and washes in the morning with hair growth shampoo.
Nicole says: “It's shocking to me because my hair is incredibly thick and I have a lot of hair. It honestly started as I woke up one day and I had a hole in my head.”
She also changed her diet to include foods that help the autoimmune system, these include: cruciferous vegetables and vitamin C. Olive oil, flax.
Nicole makes sure she takes Biotin Pills and zinc which help skin and autoimmune systems too.

However, that she is still suffering from the hair loss and has switched up her techniques all together.
Now she takes Minoxidil in the morning and night, which she believes “has helped.”
Minoxidil is a medication used for the treatment of high blood pressure and pattern hair loss.
Despite it working in the original bald spot, Nicole has found that she still has some catching up to do due to her alopecia spreading.
She also uses Betamethasone which is a topical steroid that can be used to treat alopecia areata, and Prednisone is an immunosuppressant occasionally used in rapidly progressive alopecia areata in an attempt to halt the condition.
Nicole also now gets some injections to “help stimulate the hair and regrowth.”
She finishes her video by saying: “I am looking at what other medical options I have in Europe.

“And I don’t know of any alopecia treatments currently. I also invested quite a bit of money in getting a real hair wig.
“I do really enjoy it, and people don’t often notice it is a wig.”
