IT SEEMS like more and more parents are opting for uncommon names for their little ones.

That's what one teacher discovered when she got her class list for the new school year and there were some pretty strange ones on her register.

Her sister decided to share 10 of the worst ones on Reddit - so would you ever use any of them?

Starting off with a name not too unusual but surprisingly popular, the sister revealed there are eight Hunters in the school year, so maybe avoid that one if you want your kid to have something more unique.

Many parents opted for names with different spellings, like Ryiot and Xzayvyer.

Other unusual picks include Profit, Sativah, Deronica, Rest, Savior and Mention.

And one little girl has not one but three names - Alexis-Rebel-Ann, much to the shock of some Reddit users.

"Xzayvyer is criminal. It’s like they wanted to see just how far away from Xavier they could get," one person commented on the post.

A second agreed: I pray this is a joke."

And another chimed in: "Those poor kids, at least they're in it together lol."

But they're not the only unusual names that have grabbed people's attention recently.

One woman revealed she plans to call her two daughters after the same fictional character.

I regret my one-year-old daughter’s name – I was stressed so my husband picked it but my whole family’s made jokes

The Disney-mad mum said she had already named her first child after Sleeping Beauty by calling her Aurora, but she wasn’t going to stop there.

She shared how she is pregnant with her second child and wishes to call her Briar Rose.

Disney fans will recall this is the name Sleeping Beauty is called by the fairies when she is hidden away from Maleficent.

Taking to , she shared: “Weird to name my two daughters after Sleeping Beauty?

“So to be clear, I am not obsessed with sleeping beauty.

“I just happen to like the names Aurora and Briar Rose.

“My daughter is named Aurora and I'm expecting another girl. Is it weird to name her Briar Rose??

“My husband and I love the name but we think it might be borderline too much.

“But then another part of me doesn't care that it's weird."

The mum then asked fellow Reddit users for their thoughts on the name, and they didn't hold back.

One said: “Naming one of them, no, naming both of them is definitely a little much.”

A second wrote: “Yes this is very weird. Your children are not posters for your fandom.”

And a third commented: “This is why people need pets.”

Are Unique Baby Names Worth The Hassle?

YOU may think having a unique name helps you to stand out, but is it all it's cracked up to be?

Fabulous' Deputy Editor Josie Griffiths reveals the turmoil she faced with her own name while growing up.

When I was a child, all I wanted was one of those personalised keyrings with my name on it.

But no joy, the closest I could find was Rosie, Joseph (not great for a little girl) and Joanne.

Josie is short for Josephine, which is a French name, and I managed to reach my 20s without ever meeting anyone who shared it.

When I try to introduce myself to people, I get all sorts of random things - like Tracey and Stacey - which can be pretty annoying.

Although I have come into contact with a couple of Josies over the last year - there seems to be a few of us around my age - it’s still a much rarer name than most of my friends have.

On the whole I don’t mind it, at least it’s not rude or crazily spelt.

And it means I can get away with ‘doing a Cheryl’ and just referring to myself as Josie.

I’m getting married this year and some friends are shocked that I’m changing my surname, as it’s not seen as very cool or feminist to do so these days, but I explain to them that I’m not that attached to Griffiths as I’d always just say ‘hi it’s Josie’ when ringing a mate up.

I think it’s nice to be unique and I’ll definitely try and replicate this when naming my own kids.

It’s the rude names you’ve got to watch out for, so after nine years as a lifestyle journalist I’ll definitely be avoiding those.
