“I love to watch others apply their makeup, especially if it’s somewhere fun like on the train and I get to see the whole process from start to finish,” she said.
“We all have our little quirks of how we apply makeup and routines and rituals and I will never forget watching someone use a safety pin to separate their lashes after applying mascara.

“I am in my 40s now, but I am still fascinated watching my mom do her makeup,” she said.
“She can apply her face in about five minutes, using just her fingers, no brushes or beauty blender in sight, and looks radiant every single time.”
GLAM GUIDANCE
Experimenting with makeup methods can be fun, but Fairley said it’s important to ensure skin is prepped properly before starting.
“When skin isn’t hydrated, makeup clings to dry patches and just disappears as the day goes on,” she said.
“I like to start with a spritz of water and massage a hydrating moisturizer deep into the skin to plump it and bring the skin to life before applying any makeup.”

Sticking to the same products without a willingness to try something new can be a major mistake.
“As we age, we experience changes to our skin such as pigmentation, uneven skin tone, and our hair color may become lighter or darker,” she said.
“Therefore, what once suited us, no longer does and by making some simple tweaks, this can make all the difference.
“For example, rather than using a harsh black eyeliner, swap to a more flattering brown and blend out, which will give a modern, fresh look.
“Also swapping your lipstick to a more flattering color can really help to elevate your makeup look and as per the eyes, avoid anything overly shimmery.”
Laura Fairley previously revealed her favorite products to use on mature skin for a youthful glow.
She said lightweight liquid foundations and cream blushes, bronzers, and highlighters are hydrating.
