A DIYER has found a way to copy the scents of pricey perfumes without breaking the bank.

She shared her frugal fragrance trick that gets her "spot-on" dupes of designer brands at a fraction of the price.

Redditor might have been a fan of expensive smells, but she didn't want to splurge on them.

"I love perfume, but I can't see myself spending more than $30 on perfume," she explained in a post.

Instead, she discovered she could buy a perfume oil and turn it into an eau de parfum of her favorite scent.

"You can find most dupes of the name brand fragrances with a lot of oil perfume companies, and most of them smell spot on or very close to," she said.

"The oils range anywhere from $3 to $30, depending on what size and site you purchase from."

She was especially impressed with the oils she had found from a seller on Etsy that she thought were "amazing."

"I know a lot of people could care less about perfume, but for those that love them but can't afford them/don't want to spend that kind of money, this is a godsend," she said.

She was even able to replicate a designer perfume that she had been obsessing over for a while.

"I've been wanting Guilty by Gucci forever, but I didn't want to drop $200 on it," she said.

"The oil I got from [Elegant Body Oils] was spot on though, so I am very happy."

While the Etsy shop she had originally discovered has since closed, another affordable shop, , sells designer knock-off oils for just $5.

The store has hundreds of positive reviews.

The oils can be worn by themselves or turned into an eau de parfum with additional ingredients.

The Redditor explained that she put the oil in a lotion but planned on making her own perfume spray.

"I've been using them with an unscented lotion and mix them in, then I add a drop of the oil onto my wrist to add more of a concentrated smell," she said.

"I do this while I'm waiting for my supplies to make them into perfumes to come in."

She found a perfume recipe online that involves mixing 190-proof alcohol, vegetable glycerin, and perfume oil into a 2-ounce perfume bottle.
