THERE'S nothing worse than opening your child's water bottle to find that it's grimy, dirty and smelly.
But a self-described 'Queen of Clean' has shared a super simple hack that parents can use to get the bottles clean and smelling fresh ahead of the new school year.
Lynsey took to her TikTok page to explaining just how to do it, as she demonstrated with her own personalised pink bottle.
The first step is to cover the bottom half of the bottle with dry rice.
Fill the bottle with water and then add a "good drop" of washing up liquid, she said, using an Elbow Grease variety.
Once you've done this, give it "the biggest shake" and leave it overnight.

The method also gets rid of any mould spots that appear in the bottle.
Lynsey added in the caption that "If you notice your water bottle starting to smell or spot mould inside, it’s time for a deep clean".
And while "denture tablets, bicarb and alka seltzer are also great cleaners", they will "struggle with the mould", she explained.
People were quick to comment on the video, with one writing: "Brilliant thank you!"
"Genius," another added.
As a third said: "Mine just tastes of juice all the time.
"Going to give this a try."
