In a on Mumsnet, the pregnant woman revealed the reasoning behind her pick.

However, people were quick to point out the comparison strangers will draw when being introduced to her daughter.

The poster shared that she was considering the name Bellatrix for her daughter.

"I think it could be a lovely name," the mum-to-be explained.

She said that she liked the idea of "naming [the child] after the star,"; referring to the Bellatrix constellation.

The Mumsnet user added that the Latin translation of the name is "female warrior."

She explained that she would likely call her daughter "Belle for short."

While the poster made no reference to Harry Potter, other Mumsnet users were quick to draw comparisons to a villain from the series.

"Belle is lovely - but sorry Bellatrix just makes me think of the Harry Potter character and so personally I think that dates the name," wrote one person.

"Is this a joke?" asked another confused reader.

"I would only think of the Harry Potter character," agreed a third Mumsnet user.

"Well, it's a cool name, but not after Harry Potter," said another reader.

"Get Professor Gilderoy Lockhart to perform a global memory charm and then you can use the name without any Harry Potter association," joked one person.

"Bellatrix is too strongly associated with Harry Potter in my opinion - and a very evil character!" said another Mumsnet user.

The poster replied, explaining that she is now aware of the name's association with the magical series.

Are Unique Baby Names Worth The Hassle?

Fabulous' Deputy Editor reveals the turmoil she faced with her own name while growing up.

When I was a child, all I wanted was one of those personalised keyrings with my name on it.

But no joy, the closest I could find was Rosie, Joseph (not great for a little girl) and Joanne.

Josie is short for Josephine, which is a French name, and I managed to reach my 20s without ever meeting anyone who shared it.

When I try to introduce myself to people, I get all sorts of random things - like Tracey and Stacey - which can be pretty annoying.

Although I have come into contact with a couple of Josies over the last year - there seems to be a few of us around my age - it’s still a much rarer name than most of my friends have.

On the whole I don’t mind it, at least it’s not rude or crazily spelt.

And it means I can get away with ‘doing a Cheryl’ and just referring to myself as Josie.

I’m getting married this year and some friends are shocked that I’m changing my surname, as it’s not seen as very cool or feminist to do so these days, but I explain to them that I’m not that attached to Griffiths as I’d always just say ‘hi it’s Josie’ when ringing a mate up.

I think it’s nice to be unique and I’ll definitely try and replicate this when naming my own kids.

It’s the rude names you’ve got to watch out for, so after nine years as a lifestyle journalist I’ll definitely be avoiding those.

"OK, so I just realised about Harry Potter but I really want an old name so I was thinking Viola, like Shakespeare, or Minerva," she said.

"Oh god, I’m just naming Harry Potter characters at this point."

Maggie Smith's character in the series was called Minerva McGonagall while Helena Bonham Carter played villain Bellatrix Lestrange.

"I would find a site with a list of characters because it sounds like you could fond some inspiration there. At least Minerva is a good person this time," suggested one reader.

"I think Minerva is absolutely beautiful and I actually don’t mind Bellatrix but I wouldn’t use it due to Harry Potter, Bellatrix Lestrange was a massive b***h!" said another commenter.
