I did a ‘wild pregnancy’ with no doctor’s visits & planned to freebirth – labor’s as natural as using the toilet

Her baby's birth wasn't without a hitch

A MOM-TO-BE was adamant that she didn't want doctors involved in her pregnancy, even planning for a freebirth on her own.

Her controversial plans certainly raised some eyebrows on social media — but the twist in her “wild pregnancy” birth story left people stunned.

The mom-to-be shared a lengthy rant on Facebook in which she explained why she wasn't getting checkups before giving birth.

She swore off doctor's visits and ultrasounds, insisting that pregnancy and childbirth are super easy and complications are "rare."

She even proclaimed her intentions to freebirth or have an unassisted birth without medical professionals or midwives.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, it didn't go quite as planned.

Reddit user , who knows the new mom, shared screenshots on the platform.

The mother said she'd kept her pregnancy a secret until she felt it was time to convince other expectant moms to follow in her footsteps.

“I’ve been doing what’s called a wild pregnancy, no doctor’s visits, no ultrasounds, just me trusting my body and my baby,” she said.

“I’ll be freebirthing at home when the time comes, no one will be present except my boyfriend so I’m ready to experience the beautiful and spontaneous unfolding of birth.

“We don’t know the gender and have no idea what our baby will look like.

“It’s going to be so special when we finally get to see the baby that’s been kicking me for so long.”

CHILDBIRTH'S A BREEZE

She said many people are “afraid” of their bodies despite the process of giving birth being “as natural as eating or going to the bathroom.”

"A lot of people are triggered or combative when they find out I won't be subjecting myself to the violence of the medical-industrial complex," she ranted.

“I developed an infection internally, not sure if it was from negligence on the surgeons’ part or from the stress of everything that happened to me,” she said.

She praised her boyfriend for taking care of her and Luna and announced that she would be taking a break from social media.

“This has been simultaneously the best and worst week of my entire life,” she said.

BAD EXAMPLE

Redditors were quick to share their opinions on the situation with the majority of people arguing the mom put her baby at risk by not consulting with a doctor throughout her pregnancy.

“The free birthing community is f**king nuts,” one person said. “They’re so brainwashed, it’s horrible.”

“Insane to blame the doctors who saved her and her baby's lives for the postpartum issues, “ another commented.

“So oblivious to her own f**k up. No personal responsibility at all.”

A third commenter vented that the risk of complications could’ve been lowered if she had a midwife at her home birth or involved in prenatal care.

“Going in blind without help is nuts,” they added.
