Taking to Reddit, the woman revealed that her pal, who is five months pregnant, had invited all of her friends around to help her to brain storm baby names.

However, the women had all been left open-mouthed after the mum-to-be revealed her favourite name: Chlamydia.

To the women's confusion, she then revealed that she had liked the name since studying Greek mythology in school.

After a while, the Reddit poster realised that she had got the name mixed up with Clytemnestra, the wife of King Agamemnon.

The woman pointed out her friend's mistake, but she refused to believe her.

After the woman Googled the answer, she said the mum-to-be became awkward and quiet.

"The mood for the rest of our time together kind of soured", she said.

When she returned home, the woman's pregnant friend began bombarding her with angry text messages and slamming her for "embarrassing her in front of everyone."

She added that she doesn't think she has anything to apologise for, as things would have been much worse if she hadn't said anything, and the baby had been left named after an STD.

Reddit users raced to the comments section to share their thoughts, with many people rushing to the woman's defence.
