A BEAUTY fan has revealed the results of a viral beauty hack - but has warned to never try it in the summer.
Evie tried and tested an exfoliating foot peel mask “for a bit of fun” but was left in shock after seeing what happened to her foot.
She took to her TikTok page to share her concerns in a video, and even wrote in a caption: “Don’t watch this if you’re easily grossed out.”
Foot peels are a form of chemical exfoliation, and usually come in a jelly-like mixture of ingredients which work at exfoliating the skin.
These ingredients include alpha hydroxy acid, glycolic acid and/or lactic acid.
Usually, you apply the formula to the skin on your foot and then cover it with a sleeve to let all the ingredients thoroughly work.

This then allows the acids to break down the bonds that hold skin cells together, and for a few days after the treatment, bits of dead skin will flake off the foot.
But six days later, Evie revealed her foot was still shedding and was left in shock with just how much skin was flaking off her foot.
The video showed Evie in clear panic from witnessing the results from the treatment.
Since sharing the video, it has gone viral with over 2,500 people rushing to the comments section to share their thoughts.

One beauty fan suggested: “Salt scrubs are great after a peel mask. They gently exfoliate without tearing the skin.”
However, further down in the comments section Evie revealed that she had tried that but “it doesn’t work as much as you think it would.”
Another person suggested that it was the wrong season to be doing these sorts of beauty treatments, by writing: “Girl this is winter activities.”
Someone else also shared their experience by writing: “I did this and went to the beach and had a skin pocket full of sand.”
An additional beauty fan who also tried and tested the viral hack added: “The worst thing I ever did in life was do a foot peel during summer.
“My skin was peeling for 67 business days.”
A different commenter added: “Girl I did the same thing a month ago & it peeled for 3 weeks, I was embarrassed.”
Others felt sick after coming across the video, and commented that it put them off their food.
