A FAN threw a £15,000 Bridgerton-themed wedding after being told she looked like the romantic drama’s gossip queen Penelope Featherington.

Abby Ribeiro, 27, wore a regency-style ivory gown with her red locks in curls.

Husband Tiago, 26, had a black suit and white cravat inspired by Colin Bridgerton.

Guests dressed up too and Abby even produced a Lady Whistledown rumour-sheet poking fun at the “scandal” of her and Tiago living together beforehand.

They tied the knot in Swaffham, Norfolk, before a reception at the town’s Georgian Assembly Rooms.

Teaching assistant Abby said she kept hearing she was the double of Penelope, played in the Netflix hit by Nicola Coughlan.

But she added: “I don’t see it myself, I think it’s just the ginger hair.”

Electrician Tiago had not seen the show until bingewatching with Abby.

She said: “It was very romantic.”

Tiago said: “Abby did an amazing job with the wedding.

“At first I was very against wearing the regency outfit on my wedding day because I’m not into dressing up.

“But after watching Bridgerton more and more, I compromised and I think I came out quite well with what I chose to wear.”
