Why celebs are going the extra mile to ‘to be at one’ with nature & the secret meaning behind Heidi Klum’s naked picture
NOW that Brits are finally enjoying summer, many homeowners will be taking time out to nurture their gardens.
But Gardening isn’t just easy on the eye, studies have found that physical activity reduced the risk of depression by 23 per cent and anxiety by 26 per cent.
And although it might sound strange, experts say doing it naked will dramatically improve your mental health.
Over the years this has been promoted by a host of famous faces who are happy to share their nude exploits whilst tending to their bushes.
Heidi Klum, Ulrika Johnson and Emily Ratajkowski, have all shared pictures of themselves gardening in the nude.
Petar Ivanov, gardening and plant expert at - a UK-based company of experts helping people with garden maintenance matters - believes that naked gardening can create a “stronger overall connection with the natural world.”

Petar continues: “If a person is comfortable with being naked while gardening, it brings them closer to nature because they’re feeling the soil under their feet and the sun on their exposed skin.
“This way, every sensation can become more pronounced when it’s experienced by the exposed skin.
“This improved connection with nature enhances appreciation for the world around and promotes a feeling of unity with the earth.
“When it comes to health benefits, nudity helps to expel sweat and toxins from the skin, which can be a natural cooling process that helps keep the skin clean and clear, while also reducing the risk of skin irritations.
“The skin also has more freedom to take in a healthy dose of vitamin D and there are some claims that dirt is rich in homeostatic soil organisms, which are similar to probiotics and can be very beneficial for one’s physical health.
“Removing clothes also provides a greater sense of freedom and relaxation, which can have a big positive impact on a person’s overall mental health and well-being by reducing their stress levels.
“This works great in combination with the fact that, even if clothed, then a person spends only 20 minutes in nature, it can significantly reduce their stress hormone.”

And while gardening in the nude promotes great benefits for your health, body language expert Judi James believes it’s a liberating move by the celebrities who have previously shared their naked pictures on social media.
She says: “Nudity plus nature equals a hippie-style power move, the ultimate statement of freedom, abandonment and body confidence."
Here, Judi reveals how celebs are feeling at the time of taking their nude snaps.
Heidi Klum – Surprise with watering can
Heidi Klum, 51, showed off her incredible figure as she went topless to water her garden in a sizzling snap.
Judi says: “Heidi’s bare face here shows she’s totally embracing the ‘naked in nature’ experience and the way her hair and body are wet suggests she’s been using that watering can on more than just the plants as she bonds with the foliage.
“Her over-the-shoulder glance is performed to suggest she’s been ‘discovered’ by the camera rather than posing for it, which allows her to look natural, youthful and more spontaneous than usual.”
Lizzie Cundy - Carry on hosing
Former WAG Lizzie Cundy, 56, previously revealed that she “absolutely adores doing the gardening in the nude”.
She says: “I feel invigorated, I feel confident, it has great health benefits from Vitamin D and we all need a bit of fun and freedom in life.”
Judi says: “Lizzie’s showing she’s doing her bit for all things nature-based with this cheeky pose that looks like a nod to the naked calendar so famously made by the women of the WI.
“Concealed in the bushes and clutching a long hose, Lizzie seems to be showing off her ‘Carry On’- style fun potential.
“This is a ‘naughty-but-nice’ look that comes straight off a seaside postcard.”
Ulrika Jonsson - Practical Power Pose
TV show host and model Ulrika, 56, previously stripped down to just a pair of wellies when she chose to do her gardening.
Judi says: “Ulrika’s not only opted to adopt a much more open pose with little in the way of coyness or covering up, she’s also picked props that make her look strong and rather practical here, pushing a very large wheelbarrow like an extra from Clarkson’s Farm.
“She’s the one showing the least amount of inhibitions here, more like a naturist than a celeb trying to look sensual.”
Gwyneth Paltrow - Working the pose
Gwyneth Paltrow celebrated turning 48 by heading out in the garden with no clothes on.
Judi says: “There’s no real attempt to show herself in any actual action in the garden, instead Gwynneth strikes a pose that is all about flattering the body while covering up the vital areas.
“She looks torn between making the ultimate statement of freedom and remembering her family will be looking at the end result.
“The hand on the head is a gesture of ‘what am I like?’ recklessness but her pose looks carefully designed.”
Emily Ratajkowski – Invitation to join her
In true model form Emily, 33, has proven she is extremely comfortable in her skin by posting a naked picture of herself outside.
Judi says: “This pose manages to be both coy and flirty, with her arms curling over her body while her eyes glance straight up into the camera in what looks like an invitation to strip off and join her on the garden bench.
“It’s the most intimate pose as well as the most furled.
“She looks like she’s still mustering up to take the plunge and run the length of the lawn with her arms held up in the air in an act of genuine abandonment.”
It's not only being naked outdoors that's good for you...
The Sun's feature writer Hayley Minn discovered the perks of cleaning in the buff and revealed how it made her feel as sexy as Kim Kardashian.
WASHING the dishes is usually one of the most soul-destroying jobs around the house.
But there’s a very good reason why I’m smiling ear to ear as I scrub my plates clean today. It’s because I’m taking a leaf out of Kim Kardashian’s book and standing in my kitchen, wearing nothing but the soapy suds from my sink.
Naked cleaning has been around for a while, with Laura Smith launching Naturist Cleaning in 2017, in response to what she says was "a growing new interest in nude cleaning in British society".
Waiting until my partner had left for work, and I’m home alone, I shut the blinds so the builders working directly below my window can’t have a sneaky peek.
I gleefully strip off, ready to take on the jobs I hate the most and, from the moment I take off my knickers, I feel liberated, letting it all hang out.
As I kneel over the bog, boobs dangling into the bowl, I feel very aware of the fact I’m naked.
It doesn’t help that getting bleach in my bits as I pour it down the toilet is a scarier thought than getting Toxic Shock Syndrome from leaving a tampon in for an hour too long.
As I move to the lounge and dining room, grabbing my duster to wipe down the furniture, I begin to feel a lot more comfortable in my own skin, and it definitely helps that my flat is feeling a lot toastier.
There’s no denying I feel much less stressed cleaning in the nuddy than I do with my clothes on, and I definitely feel sexier, too!

Judi says: “Nobody can truly claim to be naked in these stacked pink shoes and weighed down by all that bling so Georgina only makes a tiny nod to the idea of communing with nature here as she struts her stuff on an imaginary catwalk.
“The jacket, shoes and bling would need to come off before she could make any genuine claim to going au naturelle, but her legs and bum are at least reaping the benefits of the fresh air of outdoor living here.”
