A WOMAN was left shocked when she returned home from work to find a passive aggressive note stuck to her door.

What was even more surprising was the fact she thought it had been written by a child.

The woman snapped a photo of the message and posted it to and said she had had “issues” with her neighbours before.

She explained: “So this afternoon when I was leaving for work I found this note on our door. “Clearly it’s written by a child, and if I had to guess I would say it’s our downstairs neighbours.

“We’ve had issues with them before, like back during Xmas.

“They would send their teenage daughter to tell us to keep it down if we walked in our apartment after like 10:30pm.

“We don’t do laundry past 9:30, nor run the dishwasher. Just walking. Community quiet hours start at 10pm.”

The angry note read: “Hello this is a note to ask to keep it down.

“You are to loud everyday [sic].

“It would be nice to be able to sleep for once.

“I don't know how a person can be this loud all the time, like get a job.

“I thought you had an elephant.”

The woman explained that she works odd hours due to working in a restaurant, and the same goes for her nurse sister.

She added: “I really feel like with the exception of walking early/late, we don’t really do much in terms of noise.

“It’s not even like we’re talking as my sister and I are rarely home at the same time.”

The woman added that her leasing office sent out an email reminding tenants that “walking noise is a part of apartment living” and people have to “deal with it”.

She added: “My mom thinks I should bring it to the leasing office and let them deal with it.

“I don’t know for sure who it was, so I’m not gonna go to anyone’s door and confront them.

“I just think it’s so weird and UNSAFE to send your children to resolve issues with neighbours who you do not know.”

People were quick to comment on the neighbour dispute and offer up their suggestions.

The Top Five Reasons Neighbours Squabble

One study by Compare the Market revealed the top reason British neighbour's argue

  1. Broken fences - top of the board was broken fences and whose responsibility it was to fix it
  2. Parking: one of the leading drivers of neighbour disputes, with 54.1 per cent of people having issues with people parking in front of their house, parking bay or driveway
  3. Trees - complaints about a neighbour's tree cracking your garden path was also common with nearly half of participants finding it frustrating
  4. Bin wars - outdoor bin etiquette continues to ignite the most furious debates between neighbours
  5. Nosy Neighbours - some people have their eyes and ears at the ready to have a peek causing problems for others

One said: “Thank you for the note but please tell your parents to be grown adults and not send a child to their dirty work.”

However one claimed: “I’m thinking it’s an adult. People have zero writing skills, it’s a keyboard world.”

And a third said: “Put an elephant in your apartment and take a screenshot. Print it and attach it to the note.

“‘Yes, we do have an elephant! Her name is Lucy.’”
