Olympic gymnast Suni Lee reveals her pre-competition mani trick – and the cheap & easy nail must-have she travels with
OLYMPIC gymnast Suni Lee knows how to nail her beam routine - and her manicure.
The athlete has shared her easy and affordable nail tricks worthy of a gold medal.
PACKING FOR PARIS
Suni's pre-competition prep may not be focused quite as much on her fingernails as her floor routine - but she does use the Kiss Salon Nail X-Tend LED Soft Gel System Nails Kit.
"I hold it down for about a minute when I keep it under the light, just so it doesn't get any bubbles, it makes sure that it stays on," she said in an online event in partnership with Kiss.
Lee noted that the kit is perfect for packing, making it ideal for the upcoming Paris Olympics.
"Making sure I had something that wasn't going to break easily was super important," she said, adding that these are "super easy to travel with, and they're just super quick to do."
"It's so easy, it doesn't take up any space, I can just bring it anywhere with me if something were to happen, or to pop off," she added.
"It's super convenient and I just have been loving them and it doesn't take any time at all. It's super, super cheap, and I don't have to go to the salon and book a nail appointment.
"I can take the kit anywhere and I have the ability to apply it when I'm traveling. It's super easy to do if I'm on a flight or even in the car you can do it.
"I can just buy it and do it at home in 15 to 20 minutes and I'm good to go."

Lee, who is a self-proclaimed "French girlie," loves her classic French manicure in a particular shape.
"I have fat fingers so I feel like an almond shape really extends my fingers. I love it," she said.
She also prefers a glossy look to a matte manicure any day.
"I love a good shiny look," she said.
POPPING - WITHOUT POPPING OFF
For Suni, her nails have to be as "strong" as she is.
"I'm always looking for things that are flexible, weightless, and durable because we're doing a lot out there with our hands," she said.

"They're not like when you get your nails done and it makes your fingers stiff or sore because they press on it so hard. These don't do that, which I love," she added.
"You can't feel them when they're on your nails. I love that they're pre-sculpted and pre-polished, so I don't have to shape them myself. I'm not good at polishing my nails.
"They just save me so much time and it looks like I just stepped out of the salon."
STANDING OVATION
They're also a way for her to express herself.
"It's showing my individuality wherever my job takes me on and off the competition floor," she said.
"There are so many designs you can do, it's really unlimited.
Her nail style isn't all just for show, either.

"Having nails kind of forces me to catch the bar - I know that it's going to hurt if I miss the bar, she said.
"If I wear my nails than I'm forced to stay on the bar, so it helps me to just concentrate on that stuff, but I also just love that I can change up my look so easily whether it's to match my mood or an outfit."
