WITH the UK finally set to have a heatwave, beauty lovers will need to think about making their makeup sweat-proof.
To beat the heat and look your best, beauty retailer ’s MUA Hayley Walkerhas offered up her top tips for long-lasting makeup during the warmer weather.

Here, she shares her nine hacks to make sure your face stays flawless regardless of the weather.
15-minute rule
Hayley insists that everyone should be wearing SPF daily to protect themselves from UV rays, regardless of the weather.
And her secret hack? Allow at least 15 minutes for the product to absorb in the skin before applying makeup.
She said: "Applying makeup immediately after SPF could interfere with the process of absorption, meaning you might not be as protected, and can also lead to uneven coverage or makeup application."
Prime time
Hayley also revealed that primer is an essential step in your makeup routine during a heatwave.
She said: “A step in the makeup routine that usually gets missed out on those busy work days, however, this step is crucial in making sure your makeup withstands the heat and lasts all day.

"Primer makes a smooth surface for makeup to cling to, as well as offers that extra hit of hydration, essential in making sure your look stays put."
Less is more
“Opt for a minimal makeup look in the heat" the makeup expert added.
"Wearing more layers of makeup increases the chances of a patchy makeup look by the end of the day.
"Strip back your makeup look and opt for a dewy lightweight foundation, bushy brows, and glossy lips for a cool, calm, and collected summer makeup look that lasts all day long."
Waterproofing
Hayley revealed: “It can be hard out there in the heat, so switching to waterproof products can help prevent your makeup from sweating off during the day.
"Using a rich, moisturising foundation base can lead to makeup sliding and sweating off so opt for a waterproof, oil-free lightweight base and make sure to remove waterproof mascara with formulated waterproof makeup remover at the end of the day."
Matte it out
“Whilst a dewy base is a must-have makeup look, in the hotter weather your skin naturally looks more luminous as your skin sweats more", Hayley adds.
Instead, she recommends switching to a matte foundation as they are "more resistant to sweat" than dewy finish foundation and are less likely to melt or break down in humidity leaving your complexion looking oil-free all day.
Powder power
Hayley says: “Certain parts of the face are more prone to shine when dealing with heat, so apply translucent powder areas such as the T-zone to keep your complexion looking cool.
"Remember, don’t use too much powder as it can look cakey in the heat and make sure to top up those areas throughout the day."
Lock it in
Hayley urges beauty fans to "lock in their look" with a good setting spray.
She said: "Setting spray ultimately prevents makeup from smudging and melting off in hot weather.
"So once you're happy with your look, apply a few sprays to smudge-proof your makeup.
"You can also use a setting spray to refresh your makeup look throughout the day."
Blot till you drop
“If you do find yourself with oily areas throughout the day, make sure you have blotting papers to hand to help remove excess oil and prevent your makeup from sliding off", Hayley also insisted.
Stay sun-safe
And finally, SPF is a must.

Hayley said: “In the hotter weather, you should be re-applying your SPF throughout the day, however using a cream will ultimately disrupt your makeup look.
"Many brands now offer face SPF sprays or roll-ons to help you top up your sunscreen on the go without disrupting your makeup."
