AN unsuspecting mother was left shocked when she learned the size of her baby after her final scan.
Not long after her ultrasound, the new mum gave birth to a 12 pound baby boy.
In her viral , the TikTok user () revealed her son's weight after being delivered via C-section.
She posted the information in response to another viral clip prompting parents of large babies to share their measurements.
The young mum said she went in for a scan at 37 weeks and learned that her baby was weighing in at 9lbs 15oz.
She made the decision to get a C-section, which was scheduled shortly after the ultrasound.

According to the woman, she ended up going into labour ahead of her scheduled surgery.
However, she said her doctor "strongly advised" she proceed with the C-section given the size of her son.
"I had a baby that was 12lbs 6oz," the mum told her online followers.
She said her son was so big that he didn't fit into any newborn clothing.

"He came out of the hospital wearing zero to three month clothing and size one [nappies]," she revealed.
She explained that her baby boy has continued growing at a significant rate.
According to the young mum, her baby is now six months old and wearing 18-month clothing.
She included a picture of her son not long after he was delivered.
The baby appeared to be approximately the same size as the torso of the delivery room worker who held him up for the photograph.
Experts at explained the recommended guidance for performing C-sections on women with larger babies.
"Planned C-sections shouldn’t be performed unless the estimated fetal weight is 10 pounds or more in diabetic women or 11 pounds or more in other women," they revealed.

Premature babies, born before 37 weeks, follow a different weight scale until two weeks after their original due date.
What can affect a baby's weight?
Newborn babies carry extra fluid, meaning it's common for them to lose seven to 10% of their weight in the first few days. This should be regained within the first two weeks.
Babies are likely to undergo significant weight gain in the first six months.
After this, their weight gain will slow down as they begin to move around more.
