A YOUNG woman has revealed that she was addicted to eyelash extensions but has now ditched them for good.
When it comes to beauty trends, they tend to come and go, and while many of us were once obsessed with long, fluttery lashes, it appears that the tide is changing once again.
In a recent trend, we are seeing more women ditch the eyelash extensions and heavy make-up, in a bid to embrace their natural beauty.
And Nevey Louise, 23, a fashion fan and gym lover, is just one woman who is embracing her natural looks.
Posting on social media, Nevey left her followers open-mouthed when she shared before and after pictures of her ‘glow-down’.
The beauty fan posted a series of videos of her showing off her long, fake eyelash extensions, as she penned: “POV: You were addicted to lash extensions since you were 16 years old.”

But now fake lashes are out and the clean girl aesthetic is in, Nevey decided to switch up her look with a glow-down, and many say it's for the better.
The 'clean girl aesthetic' trend is rooted in the idea of 'less is more'.
It promotes enhancing natural beauty rather than covering it up and to achieve the look, women are opting to embrace dewy skin instead of full coverage matte foundations, ditching the heavy lashes and going for a skincare-first approach.
And it appears that Nevey has taken inspiration from it, as seconds later, we saw two videos showing off her eyelash extension free eyes, as she ditched her fake lashes and opted for a more natural look.

Alongside videos showing off her natural beauty, whereby Nevey had just a light flick of mascara on her natural lashes, she wrote: “And then you stopped.”
The brunette beauty confirmed that whilst she was getting eyelash extensions, she had “zero” eyelashes and so needed to give her lashes a break.
She explained: “My lashes aren’t long naturally. But the break does them so good.”
But Nevey admitted that she struggled when she first ditched the eyelash extensions, as she added: “I cried for a good week at first.”
Biggest beauty mistakes
Fabulous' Beauty Editor Tara Ledden has shared the do's and don'ts when it comes to beauty.
"No matter how much time and money you spend on your beauty routine, if you’re not getting the basics right, the rest is wasted.
"There aren’t many non-negotiables, but these are the biggest beauty mistakes sabotaging your regime."
- Not wearing SPF: Sun-damage is the main cause of premature skin ageing, so if you want to keep your skin looking plump and glowing, sun cream is vital.
- Using expired products: Best case, they’re ineffective and don’t deliver the results they promise, worst case they cause irritation and infection. The shelf life of beauty products differ - for example, mascara is usually good for 3-6 months while lipstick can last for 9-18 months. Check the ‘POA’ symbol on the packaging (it looks like a jar and will have a number inside for how many months it’s safe once opened. If you can’t remember when you opened your product, throw it away and start again, marking the month and year with a permanent marker on the packaging.
- Not knowing your undertones: If you’re using make-up with the wrong undertones, it’ll never look natural no matter how much you blend it! An easy trick to work out whether you have cool, warm or neutral undertones is to check the veins on your wrist - if they look blue, you have cool undertones, if they’re green, you have warm and if they’re a mix you have neutral.
- Skipping heat protector: It might feel unnecessary, but much like sun damage on the skin, excess heat is the most common cause of hair damage. So, if you want shiny, healthy hair, or you’re trying to grow it longer, using a heat protection product is key.
- Not washing your face before bed: it’s as simple as this, if you’re not washing your face before you go to sleep, everything that’s been on your skin during the day is sitting there for even longer, clogging your pores and drying out the surface. Any skincare applied on top isn’t going to be effective with a layer of dirt underneath, and you’re probably going to end up with dirty pillows too - yuck!
We think that Nevey looks stunning with and without her eyelash extensions, but her latest glow-down meant her natural beauty was really shining through.
SOCIAL MEDIA USERS BEAM
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 123,700 views.
Social media users were left stunned by Nevey’s transformation and many took to the comments to express this.

Lash expert reveals mistakes that can harm your eyes
A BEAUTY expert Nouveau Lashes, part of the HD Brows brand, has revealed what habits could be not only damaging your health, but your beauty.
1. Rubbing your eyes
Debbie Law, International Lash Trainer, said: “Whilst rubbing your eyes could seem pretty harmless, rubbing them too hard can lead to thinning of the cornea, cause blood vessels to break and result in bloodshot eyes and dark under eyes.”
2. Overuse of extensions
Be wary that using them too often can lead to eye infection, allergic reactions and damage to your natural lashes.
3. Wearing mascara too often
Debbie said: “Most of the damage of wearing mascara lies in the removal process, which is why using mascara every single day can cause lash breakage, as well as making the makeup removal process more difficult."
4. Ripping false lashes off
This can lead to not only losing your lashes, but damaging the hair follicles so they don’t grow back.
