WE’VE all been there: you put on a fabulous pair of shoes only to end up with painful blisters after a few hours.

Whether it’s new high heels for a night out or fresh wellies for your festival jollies, blisters can quickly turn any footwear experience into a painful nightmare.

You don’t have to suffer anymore, though.

There’s an unexpected hero in your vanity drawer that can save your feet from dreaded ripped skin.

Enter: boob tape.

Yes, the very same tape designed to hold your melons up in your most daring outfits can also keep those blisters at bay.

Boob tape, also known as fashion tape or body tape, has long been a secret weapon for celebrities looking to wear revealing outfits without the fear of wardrobe malfunctions.

It’s designed to be gentle on the skin while providing strong adhesion, making it perfect for an array of unconventional uses – including blister prevention.

Blisters form when friction between your skin and your shoe creates heat, leading to fluid-filled pockets.

They can also rip your skin apart and force you into weeks of plaster rotation until the wound fully heels.

Boob AND trotter saviour

Boob tape works by providing a protective barrier between your skin and the shoe.

If your strappy new sandals can’t cause friction against your skin, you won’t get blisters.

Boob tape is a better choice than traditional or blister-specific plasters because there’s no risk of it coming off.

It is designed to stick through hours of movement, sweat, and even slight moisture, making it more reliable than many traditional bandages.

You can also wrap it around your foot a few times to ensure extra security.

The social media team at shoe brand EGO have taken to Instagram to share the little known fashion hack.

Fashion editor reveals the 90s trends that should stay in the past

NINETIES and noughties trends especially have become a hit with Gen Z - most likely because they didn’t wear them the first time round. Here, Deputy Fashion Editor Abby McHale gives the rundown of some of the trends that have made a comeback that we wish did not.

Disc belts

"A hit with celebrities like Victoria Beckham and Blake Lively, the belt itself did nothing that a belt should actually do - it was a mere fashion statement, not a piece to actually hold anything up.

"And it seems it’s not just me who is enraged by its return, with many taking to TikTok to give their views, saying: 'Oh no not the disc belt! I don’t think I have the energy for it a 2nd time around' - I feel you."

Jelly shoes

"After not being seen on shelves for decades, they’ve made a reappearance and this time they’re not just for kids.

";Coming in a range of colourful patterns, you can get them all over the high street in either flat or heeled versions.

"Not only will you look very childish wearing such shoes, but people will also need to learn that they aren’t the comfiest - blister plasters will come in handy."

Pedal pushers

"The cropped knee-grazing trouser were all the rage in the 1990s and 2000s, but this time the model fash pack are all over them - with both Bella Hadid and Emily Ratajkowski wearing them out recently.

"The original IT girls, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Brigitte Bardot helped make the trousers - also called Capri pants - look effortlessly cool and glam.

"Somehow this time round they don’t seem to be having that same effect."

Say NO to sore feet

Their tutorial, which you can watch at the top of this article, proves just how easy it is to execute.

Before you begin, ensure your feet are clean and dry as this will help the tape adhere better and stay in place longer.

Then, wrap the tape around the area of your foot that is at risk of blistering - this could be the balls of your feet, heels or sides of your toes.

Carefully apply the tape to the vulnerable areas, smoothing out any wrinkles.

It should lie flat and feel comfortable against your skin.
