She shared her beauty routine in response to a post about “stubborn or genetic” dark circles on Reddit’s Skincare Addiction forum.

BRIGHT IDEA

She listed three factors that she's “convinced” made a difference in the appearance of her under-eyes.

“Applying my Curology prescription (which includes tretinoin, vitamin C, and niacinamide) directly under my eyes at night (be careful with this, I've been using it for a long time so I didn't experience irritation, but others might),” she wrote under the handle .

“Taking B-vitamins daily.

“Keeping my under-eye area ultra-moisturized with hyaluronic acid, natural moisturizing factors lotion, and vaseline at night.”

Curology is an online service that ships personalized skincare recommendations directly to customers.

They can help with conditions such as hyperpigmentation, fine lines, acne, and dark spots.

The Redditor said only a “thin layer” of Vaseline needs to be applied over the eyes.

She raved about how the combination of targeted skincare and dietary supplements brightened her dark circles.

“Adding each of these things resulted in an incremental improvement, with the vitamins being the most effective,” she said.

“I read an old post on here where someone said their dark circles were caused by a vitamin B12 deficiency so I looked into it and I had most of the symptoms of a B12 deficiency.

“I started taking B-vitamin supplements along with a multi-vitamin and my dark circles improved substantially.”

EYE-OPENER

Many people up-voted the post and said they were eager to try the tips themselves.

According to , there are several causes of dark circles including a lack of sleep, hyperpigmentation, nutrition deficiencies, aging, genetics, and allergies.

What are the symptoms of a B12 deficency?

According to , the best sources of B12 are meat and dairy products such as eggs, milk, and meat including fish and poultry.

A deficiency in the nutrient is common.

Symptoms can include fatigue, constipation, weight loss, and poor memory.

If left untreated it can cause anemia and nerve problems.

Antioxidant products, increased sleep, and cucumber slices are among the cost-effective home remedies.

Chemical peels and topical creams may also be beneficial for brightening under-eye hyperpigmentation.

Dark circles are usually not a cause for concern but it may be worth speaking to a doctor if they worsen.

TikToker Raji Osahn () previously went viral on the app when she shared a home remedy.

She left potato peel to sit underneath her eyes for 20 minutes before rinsing her skin.

“Try this! It works but you’ve got to do it daily to see the results!” she said.
