A DIY fan has revealed that she lives in a council house but you can never tell thanks to her simple tricks.
25-year-old Celene Francis, a single mother who lives in a two-bedroom house in Rotherham with her young daughter, has given her council property a mega makeover, all whilst on a budget.
With not much money to spare, the student midwife and mental health support worker has shared how she gave her home a stylish transformation on the cheap, leaving many open-mouthed.
So if you want to give your home a total transformation, then you’ll need to check this out.
The savvy mum revealed how she transformed a plain table and made it incredibly glam, in barely any time at all.
Using vinyl wrap from B&M, which you can buy for just £6.99 a roll, Celene was able to give her plain table a chic new look.

Celene beamed: “Love a simple upcycle using vinyl wrap.”
In the short clip, Celene demonstrated how she stuck the self-adhesive vinyl wrap to her table.
She used scissors to cut the durable, water and heat resistant marble-effect film to size and then used a card to smooth out any air bubbles.
When it came to doing the corners, Celene explained: “I honestly just winged it!

How to do your council house up on the cheap
- Take inspiration from pricier shops and head to B&M, Home Bargains for interior decorations.
- Head to YouTube for easy to follow tutorials on how to decorate rather than paying for professionals.
- For a quick glow-up for your floors or anywhere with tiles, opt for stick-on vinyl to save on costs.
- A lick of paint does wonders to make a room feel brand-new.
- Switch out kitchen cupboard knobs for modern ones instead of buying brand-new cupboards
While someone else beamed: “WOW!!!!!!”
At the same time, another user wrote: “Wow, that's so simple but really effective! Well done.”
Celene previously told Fabulous that she regularly shops in high-street chains such as B&M, The Range and Home Bargains and by watching YouTube videos, has been able to give her home a stunning upgrade without breaking the bank.
I’ve always been into DIY and interiors and doing things myself

She explained: “I’ve done all sorts of DIY. I painted the kitchen cupboards, got new handles, and painted the tiles.
“Obviously I put down flooring and just got laminate and carpets. On the stairs I did a stair runner and just used what was leftover from my carpet.
“I did all of the DIY myself - including fitting the stair rods and all of the painting.
“I watched a lot of YouTube videos but I’ve always been into DIY and interiors and doing things myself.”
Celene revealed that as a single mother, she tried to cut costs where possible, and so bought a lot of her home furnishings from cheap high-street chains.
My favourite shop is B&M. I absolutely love B&M

She added: “I like to be on a budget and especially in this day and age, I haven’t got loads of spare money.
“I’ve done everything gradually and I don’t really go out or drink [alcohol] so any spare money I have, I buy things for the house.
Why B&M is so good for bargains
SENIOR Digital Writer, Abby Wilson, who loves a shopping trip to B&M, has shared her thoughts on why the chain is the place to go for bargain buys...
WE all love B&M (especially me). It's a one-stop-shop where you can nab all things from gardenware and homeware, to snacks and cleaning supplies.
Not only do we love the variety B&M offers (because after all, who can be bothered to go to five different shops anymore?!), but the prices are brilliant too.
If you're on a budget, B&M is definitely worth vising - as it's full of cheap bargain buys.
Not only will you find affordable items, but B&M is full of dupes too - so if you're after beauty buys without the designer price tag, you'll need to take a trip.
Similar to this, the chain are eager to get on trends - so if you see something in H&M Home but are on a budget and can't justify the price, give it a few weeks and you'll probably spot something similar on the shelves in your local B&M.
“I mainly shop at The Range, B&M, Home Bargains and IKEA. But my favourite shop is B&M. I absolutely love B&M.
"As soon as something is trendy, B&M have it straight away. I think B&M is great.”
