To start off the haul, Amy first tried on a lime green strappy slip dress, as she said: “I can’t get over the colour, can’t get over the fit. It’s so comfortable to wear.

“It’s very flattering. Would you believe me if I told you it was only £22?

“I’m at that age now where all my friends are either getting married or having babies and all of mine are getting married - what a great dress to wear as a wedding guest.”

Following this, Amy modelled a pinstripe double breasted blazer, which has now been reduced to £31.20, and matching wide leg trousers, which have been slashed to £23.30.

Supermarket chic or high end high street -- can you tell the difference between high end jeans more than double the price of their supermarket twins?

The fashionista added: “I have a hen do coming up and the weather isn’t looking great, so I thought something like this would be absolutely perfect.

“I feel very chic and cool in this outfit.”

Reasons to shop supermarket fashion

When looking for new pieces to add to your seasonal wardrobe, or update your basics, there's no need to spend hours walking around clothes shops, or scrolling online. Just pick up a dress or two alongside your fruit and veg...

They’re convenient - Chances are you visit your supermarket more times than a shopping centre or high street.

It’s affordable - For basics  to more fashion-led pieces, supermarkets are leading the way for budget fashion that doesn’t look cheap.

They’re more on-trend that you think - With a customer database larger than the average high street store, shops like ASDA, Sainsbury's and Tesco are able to cater to the markets and predict trends in a lot more areas than just food supply.

They fit well - Fits and lengths often come with a little more modesty in mind. Fabrics are often highly practical too—think plenty of 100% cotton that can be thrown into the washing machine without thought.

After this, we saw Amy try on a midi slip skirt and belted blazer, as she continued: “I’ve been on the lockout for a cream satin skirt and so I picked this up because it was only £16.

"I love it.”

Yet again, George at Asda has pulled through

To finish off her haul, Amy tried on a ‘perfect’ dress for hen dos, which is now priced at just £22.40, as she explained: “Then I picked up this blazer dress - I’m thinking hen dos or graduation - it would be the perfect moment. It’s so stinking cute.

“Yet again, George at Asda has pulled through. Love, love. Ten, ten. Would recommend.”

Why supermarket fashion is on top form, says Fabulous Deputy Fashion Editor Abby McHale

I love shopping at the supermarkets - over the past few years whilst certain high street stores have folded, the style down the aisles has gone from strength to strength.

Now when I head in to do my weekly food shop I always have to make a pit stop at the clothing section to see what's new in.

Not only are the pieces a great price, but the supermarkets have really nailed what their customers want.

From core wardrobe staples, good quality denim, pretty dresses and fun accessories they really have everything covered.

These days I only buy my jeans from the supermarkets having pairs from both Tu at Sainsbury's and F&F at Tesco.

And to me there's no better feeling than someone complimenting your outfit for you to tell them it's from a supermarket.

Last week I picked up a gorgeous black crossbody bag from Sainsbury's at just £14 and I've had so many people tell me it looks a lot more expensive.

Working in fashion I get to see and feel a lot of clothes and I can tell you that the quality of the pieces from these shops are great, especially for the price.

The Instagram video, which was posted under the official @ account, has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly racked up over 1,600 likes.

Social media users were open-mouthed by the new fashion finds and many took to the comments to express this.
