THE EU has made a rasher decision to BAN smoky bacon crisps due to claims the chemicals used to create their taste could be toxic.
Eight smoke flavourings, including those used for the snack, will be phased out in Northern Ireland’s crisp factories due to post-Brexit trading agreements.
But British buyers, who consume more crisps per capita than anywhere else in Europe, will still be able to pig out on the product as we have left the EU.
To celebrate, see if you know your (cheese and) onions about crisps by taking Alex Lloyd's quiz.
