JEWELRY JOKE

‘Couldn’t have waterboarded that info out of me,’ critics say of ‘inside joke’ bride had engraved on her wedding band

People pointed out that she could never make the ring a family heirloom

SOCIAL media users said they'd rather be tortured than wear one bride's ring.

The woman's wedding band referenced an inside joke with the groom that many people called "gross" and "embarrassing."

Posting in the Facebook group , an unnamed user shared a picture of the unusual engraving.

The screenshot from another online group featured some background context to the unique ring.

"I’m so excited, my wedding is literally just around the corner and I finally ordered my ring," the bride wrote in the original caption.

In the picture, the engraving on the inside of the band clearly reads "sloppy seconds."

"‘Sloppy seconds’ is our inside joke 'cause I used to see his roommate," the bride explained.

"I’m [going to] be so mad if he didn’t get it on his ring like we agreed."

The Facebook user, who shared the picture, jokingly called the ring "an absolute gem."

Countless other social media users gave their critiques in the comments section.

"We should know less about each other," wrote one baffled person.

Another commenter pointed out how poorly the jewelry joke will age.

I thought I’d found the perfect wedding guest dress - but then got trolled for it being ‘too short’ & 'like a nightie’

"Cause this is what you want to pass down to your grandkids," they wrote.

"Absolutely not. As an inside joke, fine, whatever. It’s gross and it’s a gross attitude towards women but whatever. But ON YOUR (already ugly) WEDDING BAND?! No. This is too much," said a third person.

One Facebook user questioned whether the joke was a point of tension between the couple.

"It’s all fun and games until it’s an argument," they pointed out.

"I wouldn’t find this 'joke' funny ever, but especially not on my wedding ring," said another person.

"LOL at her thinking this is just a 'funny joke' being made," wrote one social media user.

"Ah to be a fly on the wall when she has to explain this for the eighth time and it finally dawns on her."

"I bet the wedding speeches are going to be just as cringe as this ring," joked another person.

TORTURE

Other Facebook users were confused as to why the bride would ever agree to the nickname let alone engrave it in her ring.

"Yikes, keep that to yourself. Couldn't have waterboarded that info out of me," said one person.

"You couldn’t waterboard that out of me," agreed another social media user.

"Honestly embarrassing, why would you admit to that, even more so engrave it on your ring?" asked one person.

"There's no way someone could get me to admit or engrave that," wrote another Facebook user.

"Some people are just too comfortable putting things on the internet for everyone to see," said another.
