‘With that attitude I wouldn’t either’ people slam bride-to-be moaning no one’s bought her gifts 2 weeks before wedding

GETTING married is always a pricey even to arrange – from catering for guests to finding a venue, and of course, the dress.
Many wedding guests appreciate the fact it can be super costly, and in return will buy the newly-weds a gift to congratulate them and show appreciation for having them attend the big day.
But picking gifts for the couple can be tricky – leading many couples to set up a gift registry for their guests to pick and choose form so they get exactly what they want.
But it seems that one bride’s idea to have a registry has backfired, and she’s not happy.
Bride-to-be Alina Wurth took to social media to share her disappointment that her guests hadn’t bought from it.
No toaster or trash can but at least we’re in love

In the clip, she said: “When the wedding is in 11 days and no one is buying gifts off your registry.”
The unhappy woman added: “So we are going to get married with absolutely nothing but the clothes we already own and the bed sheets I’ve had since a teenager.”
Getting married can be stressful when there’s so much to plan and it seemingly had all got on top of Alina.
“No toaster or trash can but at least we’re in love,” she captioned the clip.
While many people can share the frustration with Alina, as it takes time to put together a gift registry and lots of money to host her guests, some were not impressed with post.
Many claimed they also wouldn’t want to buy her a gift if that was her attitude.
Others said she should focus on marrying her lover rather than what gifts they will receive.
The clip soon went viral on her TikTok account @with over 700k views and 48k likes.
One person wrote: “With this attitude I wouldn’t be buying you a toaster either.”
Another commented: “Woah. That’s an insane thing to think or say.”
“My marriage was about marrying the love of my life, not the presents I would receive,” penned a third.
A Bride’s Ultimate Guide to Wedding Gifts
Fabulous's Digital Editor, Lydia Major, has shared her thoughts as a former bride on what to buy - and what not to buy - a couple for their big day.
I’m a traditionalist so I love to go to a wedding with a list. A list where the price points vary, the prezzies are a mix and there’s something for everyone. The joy of a list is we know the bride and groom want these things and we know no one else will buy the same – for me, that’s a win-win. I got married 8 years ago and still remember who bought us a certain photo frame or the posh-plate that only comes out at parties.
But, that being said, if someone doesn’t have a list I still would NEVER turn up empty handed. That’s plain rude. Even if the wedding cost an arm and a leg to get there. A wedding takes months, if not years,of planning, costs a fortune and it’s one of the best days out and the best parties you ever go to, so a small gesture of thanks is essential.
I still remember those who didn’t even bring a card to mine!
Also I don’t think a couple should ever quibble if guests want to give you a wedding present that’s not on your list – older generations, in particular, may feel this is more personal.
To be honest, it’s weddings where the couple want money contributed to their honeymoon or their house fund that makes me feel awkward. Is £50 tight, £150 too lavish? Where’s the benchmark? I spend weeks agonising over it talking to anyone or everyone going and then normally take a stab in the middle.
So for me – always go for a list, stick to the list and let the list be your guide!!
Meanwhile a fourth said: “Y’all who are getting upset have no idea how much goes into planning a wedding and what it’s like for people to not pay attention or care about details such as a registry. It’s about caring not price.”
“You sound like a bundle of joy,” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: “I’m Italian. We don’t give gifts at weddings. We give cash. Maybe people are giving cash?”
“Maybe! Either way we’ll be okay, this was supposed to be a humorous video but people are so upset,” Alina replied.
