Martha Stewart’s ‘foolproof method’ for folding the neatest T-shirt possible – you just pinch, grab, and twist
TELEVISION personality Martha Stewart has a foolproof method to make your T-shirts look neat in three steps.
If you want your casual tops to have minimal lines, all you have to do is pinch, grab, and twist, according to the homemaking mogul.
Martha's got all things home covered, including getting your laundry in good shape.
A nicely folded shirt doesn't just save space in your drawers, but it also decreases the likelihood of wrinkles in your garment.
She shared her method for folding a T-shirt on her TV show, and it was broken down in an on her website.
She revealed how she gets the "neatest fold possible" with her specific process.
STEP-BY-STEP
Martha offered specific instructions on how to accomplish the task easily.
She first said to lay the shirt horizontally and face up in front of you with the neck on the right-hand side.
The neck should be facing the left, while the bottom of the shirt should be to your right.
PINCH PERFECT
Next, using both hands, lightly pinch the shirt on the side opposite you at two points.
Place the thumb and pointer finger at the shoulder, midway between the sleeve and the neck, or about a third of the way.
Place the other pointer and thumb fingers halfway down the shirt, or about two or three inches from the armhole.
This is parallel to your other hand.
GRAB GAIN
While holding the two points, cross your right hand over your left, and bring the shoulder down to meet the bottom hem of the shirt.
Then, grab that same hem at the bottom and pinch it together to lift the shirt so it hangs in front of you.
TWISTY TOP
Make sure to uncross your arms without letting go of the shirt and pull the fold tight as you do so.
If you do, you'll have to start again.
Lastly, place the hanging sleeve on the work surface, and neatly drape the folded portion over it.
