A FEMALE entrepreneur has revealed what it really takes to survive the world of business as a woman.
Jordan Brompton, 35, runs one of the fastest-growing renewable energy tech firms in the world, but it hasn’t always been easy.
She and her business partner Lee invented the Zappi charger, the world’s first solar charger for electric vehicles capable of using 100% renewable energy.
They pair launched in 2016.
Jordan, who recently appeared on the podcast , discussed some of the struggles she faced being the female co-founder of the company.
“It’s different when you're a female leader, (it’s) still a little bit of a boys club," she said.

She added: "I've nearly been bullied out my own business in the sense
that I've thought this is just too much, I've not got this in me."
Despite not enjoying her academic years, Jordan has had several jobs before running Myenergi, gaining lots of experience to get to where she is.
She said: “I just wasn’t academic, I tried super hard but it just wasn’t there.”
Jordan said growing up in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, meant it would be almost impossible for her to go to university as many people from a working class background assume higher education isn't for them.

Jordan was always interested in business and spent her youth working as a hairdresser, dance instructor and bartender, all while travelling the world.
Once she met her partner, she decided to move back to the UK and get an admin job which is where she met her business partner Lee.
Although they parted ways for a while working on different business ventures, Lee came knocking on Jordan’s door in 2016.
When he asked her if she would like to go into business together, Jordan jumped at the opportunity.
The pair worked overtime to get their product known by electricians and others working with solar panels.
It proved a huge hit and after a YouTube account called Fully Charged featured their Electric Vehicle chargers sales went through the roof.
The company soon gained traction and sales increased by 200% every single year allowing them to expand their team from four to over 35.
But it hasn't come without problems.

Despite winning Entrepreneur of the Year in 2022, Jordan is still faced with negative stereotypes and says some of her employees feel they can talk to her in a way they wouldn't talk to their male boss.
“I remember (a colleague) saying to me, ‘I think you should change your profile picture because I don't think it's very appropriate, is that what we want to portray’ and I was like 'how dare you'.
