A PEST exterminator has revealed a 50p trick to banish ants from crawling into your kitchen this summer.
Now that the warmer weather should be slowly creeping in for Brits, it also means that it’s the peak breeding season.

Which is why during the summer months, you may find more creeping crawlies in your home.
Pest exterminator Georgios Likopoulos from has revealed that ants are attracted to water, food and shelter.
And once they have all three, “they start to reproduce.”
He urges homeowners to immediately clean up any spills or leftovers of food as “it doesn’t take much to attract ants.”

Georgios also revealed that homeowners won’t have to break the bank either when using different products or tricks to getting rid of ants.
He also believes that those affected by ants don’t have to use harsh chemicals to get rid of the ants.
Georgios first starts off by recommending Boric acid, which comes in a powder form and can be bought on eBay for £4.49, to repel the ants from coming inside.
But if Boric acid is a bit tricky to find, Georgios also suggested Chalk as it can help disrupt the ants trail after it is put down.

He also recommends coffee grounds which can keep sugar ants away if used outside around your front or back door, and as using chalk.
If you have pets in the house, Georgios believes that talcum powder is a safe method and can also be used around children.

Other suggestions from the expert pest repellent is using scents that repel ants, which include lemons, white vinegar, orange, peppermint, and black pepper.
Do this by mixing the scents with water, and spray near areas of the house where ants can come in from.

He also warns people to not offer them food, and to ensure that your house is clean and tidy.
And ensure that are no cracks near your doors and windows, and Georgios recommends to fill them.
Keep pests out all summer
Hornets and wasps - hate the smell of peppermint oil so spraying this liberally around your patio or balcony can help to keep them at bay.
Moths - acidic household white vinegar is effective for deterring moths. Soak some kitchen roll in vinegar and leave it in your wardrobe as a deterrent.
Flying ants - herbs and spices, such as cinnamon, mint, chilli pepper, black pepper, cayenne pepper, cloves, or garlic act as deterrents.
Mosquitoes - plants, herbs and essential oil fragrances can help deter mossies inside and out. Try eucalyptus, lavender and lemongrass.
