Shania Twain’s ‘$78k new look is very different,’ says surgeon – Botox was her ‘gateway drug to fillers and a facelift’
SHANIA Twain’s drastically changed face has continued to confuse her fans and followers in the run-up to her big Las Vegas comeback.
A plastic surgeon has claimed the country star has been tinkering with her skin for a decade amid denials she has ever gone under the knife.
But fans were surprised by her appearance.
He said her hairstyles made it challenging to see if there were "incisions from a facelift."
The You've Got a Way singer has been back on stage since May 1.
Shania's Come on Over show features a 21-song set list and four costume changes. It'll run until December.
"I don't need to look younger in my own mind. It's not a goal of mine, but I do like to feel refreshed, and the pink hair does that. It's awesome," she added.
COVER UP
suggested the long hair might help cover up signs of plastic surgery.
“Shainia always wears her hair down," he said.
"This makes it hard for us to see around her ears and whether there are any incisions from a facelift.
“Shania could have had something done this year.
"A facelift would have been a relatively recent phenomenon for her.
“Her face looks smoother, and her jawline looks tighter.
“Shania is all over the place in all the photos through the years with the swelling and hairstyles.”
Shania spoke exclusively to The Sun before her third Vegas residency.
She said her youthful looks were down to diet and exercise. Shania also denied changing any sagging skin "superficially."
“Every month or day that I may notice another sag or another bit of cellulite, I want to know it’s there,” she said.
“I want to be OK with it instead of thinking, I have to cover it up or not to look. I can’t change it, and I don’t plan on changing it superficially,” she added.
All these procedures can affect - or mimic - the look a facelift or necklift would give.
Dr. Richard Westreich
In January, during an interview with Hoda Kotb on The Today Show, Shania claimed she loved being in her "own skin."
“Maybe that was probably part of what pushed me to go, ‘OK, it’s time to start loving yourself in your own skin,’” she said.
The singer posed topless in 2022 to prove how comfortable she felt with her body.
“This is me expressing my truth," she confirmed.
"I’m comfortable in my own skin, and this is the way I am sharing that confidence,” Shania said at the time.
MIMIC ME
Westreich said Shania could have denied cosmetic work because she considered treatments like Botox non-surgical.
"Shania might deny that she has had work done," he said
"Botox, filler, and threads are non-surgical procedures.
“Ultimately, all these procedures can affect — or mimic — the look a facelift or neck lift would give.
She has just been doing things to prevent all the sagging.
Dr. Richard Westreich
“Shania has probably had a lot of non-surgical procedures done.
“She does look different every couple of months, which also does not lend itself to any single surgical procedure.
“Sometimes she does not look surgically altered, but at other times she looks swollen or even a bit weird."
Shania seems to have found a balance in her personal life. In 2023, she endured two health scares.
In January 2023, she had open-throat surgery to save her voice.
The Grammy winner famously fell in love with her long-term friend Frédéric Thiébaud in 2010.
She remarried in 2011 after splitting from her husband, Mutt Lange.
The Canadian star met the Swiss businessman in the 90s.
DOG'S LIFE
Westreich said that The Woman in Me hitmaker has not overdone her treatments.
“All in all, Shania is not overdoing it,” Westreich added.
“The photo she posted with her dog shows her skin looks good.
It is going in the right direction, and she has not gone over the cliff yet.
Dr. Richard Westreich
“Here, it does not look like she has done much to it.
“But a week later, her skin and face look different again.
“There is the tightness to her jawline and a variability of swelling again.
“Shania has not had her lips done or a rhinoplasty.
“Her upper lids have always been a bit on the heavier side.
