We went to the Ibiza of the UK – it has way better vibes and you don’t pay ridiculous prices for drinks
STAYCATIONS became big business when the Covid-19 pandemic stopped most of us jetting off.
And now, holidaymakers are claiming that the UK has its very own answer to iconic party island, Ibiza.
You’ll have to travel down to the southwestern tip of the British isles to get a slice of Spain, though.
Brits are dubbing Cornwall as “the Ibiza of the UK”.
The county is often associated with beautiful beaches, stunning coastal scenery and a vibrant summer tourism scene, much like Ibiza.
And now, beach parties and high-ticket music events are also becoming a staple in the seaside destination.

One events company has even promised that the Cornwall coast is “the closest you’ll get to Ibiza without getting on a plane”.
However, Brits have noticed a key difference between the two locations… the price disparity.
“In Cornwall, I can go home after the party and not pay ridiculous prices for entry and drinks,” one local said.
Another local beamed that the county “just lowkey has better vibes” than the Spanish island.
Thanks to the beautiful May weather over the weekend, hundreds of Brits flocked to Newquay for an Ibiza-style night out.
The popular Cornwall town sits on the north coast and is famed for its surf-friendly and sandy Fistral and Watergate Bay beaches.
Partygoers headed there for beach parties amid 23 degree weather on Saturday May 11.
Content creator Amy Nicholson took to TikTok to ask: “Cornwall or Ibiza?”
She shared a video from Fistral Beach Bar which showed hundreds of partygoers vibing to music on the beach.
The bar hosted its first terrace party of 2024 on Saturday.
“If you haven’t been to one of our legendary Terrace Parties, where have you been?” a blurb on the event reads.
“Newquay’s most talked about summer parties happen right here at Fistral Beach Bar and they’re not to be missed!
“Kicking off at 6pm with Latin house grooves and disco flavours, DeluxX and Ant Durkin take to the decks and sax maestro, Paul Haywood tears it up on the terrace.
“Our amazing Samba dancers will once again be sprinkling some South American magic all over our Copacabana Party.
