A STAY-AT-HOME mum has revealed that she has made £18,000 from a simple side hustle, that just involves using things she already owns.

Elly Watson shared details of her money making scheme via a video posted to her TikTok channel, which she often uses to share side hustle tips and tricks.

She explained that she started side hustling with Amazon 10 months ago, and has since been able to make an extra £18,000 to help support her family.

Elly revealed that she makes cash by reviewing products on Amazon.

And the best part? These products are things that she already owns.

Amazon has a scanner tool that lets you scan things that are around your house, and see if they are available to buy on Amazon.

If they are (which is the case with most things) then Elly makes a short 30-60 second video reviewing the product.

The mum of two explained that after you have uploaded these products to your Amazon creator account, Amazon will put them on the product page, and if someone buys the item after watching your review, then you get paid commission.

Elly said that she reviews everything from her children's books, to nappies and toys.

She added that eventually, companies will start to reach out to you, and will send you free products to review.

In a post on her Instagram story, the side-hustling pro said: "When I first found out about this I was a little sceptical, but I'm so glad I didn't let that fear hold me back, as this has been incredible."

She added that the side hustle is perfect for stay at home mums who want to earn extra cash to support their families, and even people who work full time, but want to make a little extra money on the side.

I work 10 hours a week and still earn £100k - it's ridiculously easy, I'm amazed more people don't do it

The mum also assured those interested that you don't need to have a large following to do this side hustle or post to social media.

To help people to earn money from making reviews themselves, Elly now sells a course, where she shares her knowledge.

Elly's video, which was posted under the username , has likely left many impressed, as it has racked up over 843,000 views on the video sharing platform.

TikTok users raced to the video's comments section, to share their thoughts on the side hustle.

One person said: "I’ll try this out, thank you!";

Do I need to pay tax on my side hustle income?

MANY people feeling strapped for cash are boosting their bank balance with a side hustle.

The good news is, there are plenty of simple ways to earn some additional income - but you need to know the rules.

When you're employed the company you work for takes the tax from your earnings and pays HMRC so you don't have to.

But anyone earning extra cash, for example from selling things online or dog walking, may have to do it themselves.

Stephen Moor, head of employment at law firm Ashfords, said: "Caution should be taken if you're earning an additional income, as this is likely to be taxable.

"The side hustle could be treated as taxable trading income, which can include providing services or selling products."

You can make a gross income of up to £1,000 a year tax-free via the trading allowance, but over this and you’ll usually need to pay tax.

Stephen added: "You need to register for a self-assessment at HMRC to ensure you are paying the correct amount of tax.

"The applicable tax bands and the amount of tax you need to pay will depend on your income."

If you fail to file a tax return you could end up with a surprise bill from HMRC later on asking you to pay the tax you owe - plus extra fees on top.

Another person said: "Just purchased your course! Excited!"

A third person said: "Now this is realistic! I’m super interested!"
