A GARDENING enthusiast has revealed a simple trick for stimulating the growth of stubborn lemon plants.

She showed a lemon tree thriving in her backyard before sharing the must-try tip.

According to , lemon trees do best in high humidity and need a sheltered,  sunny spot.

They require feeding weekly with liquid seaweed and a citrus fertilizer, as well as watering once a week.

She went viral on the app after revealing how to improve the growth of lemon plants.

She cut lemons from a flourishing plant before showing that it was strategically placed next to a basil plant.

The green-fingered homeowner said the companion planting hack can help attract pollinators for your lemon plants.

“Not all flowers will turn into fruit as it depends on the age of your plant,” Divya said.

“Along with feeding your plant well so that it has the energy to bear the fruit.”

Almost 11,000 people liked the video and many viewers took to the comment section thanking her for sharing the tip.

According to , basil can be grown from seed indoors or bought as a potted plant.

The herb grows best in warm conditions but needs a sheltered sunny spot.

The hack comes after gardening expert Craig Morley told The U.S. Sun the herb can be used to deter pests.
