We all want an easier time in the morning - especially when it comes to getting kids ready and getting to the school gate on time.

But this mum's time-saving hack has left people totally divided.

Taking to Facebook, the woman announced that she meal prepped her kids' lunchbox sandwiches on the Sunday for the entire week.

She explained: "My kids love peanut butter sandwiches so I started a new routine.

"Every Sunday I go through one whole loaf of bread and make as many sandwiches as possible.

"Then I stock them in my fridge for the kids' lunch bags throughout the week. Makes my morning routine easier."

The savvy mum then shared a picture of her game-changing hack with one fridge drawer stocked full of individual peanut butter sandwiches.

She stored each of the sarnies in plastic bags for her to take out whenever they were needed.

Chuffed with her hack, she shared it on social media - but not everyone said it was a good idea.

Although it saved the mum time in the morning - many said it was disgusting for her children.

They added that her kids would be stuck with soggy sandwiches by the end of the week.

Mum Warns Against Kids' Toy After Scary Encounter

One person wrote: "I personally can't even take to the idea of making my kids sandwiches the night before let alone the beginning of the week and into the fridge."

Another commented: "Someone is lazy. Make them the night before or wake up five minutes earlier. Your kids deserve a fresh lunch!"

"How gross! They'll be disgusting after a day or so. Poor kids! Take 30 seconds to make a sandwich or wake up five minutes earlier," penned a third.

Meanwhile a fourth said: ";Mmmmm soggy sarnie Friday is lovely I bet..."

However, plenty of parent's took to the comments to say it was a genius idea but added they would store them in the freezer to keep the sandwiches fresher.

What the NHS recommends children have for lunch:

The NHS gives a number of suggestions and guidelines on their Chnage4Life website.

  • Base the lunchbox on foods like bread, rice, pasta and potatoes - wholegrain ideally - too keep kids fuller for longer
  • If your child isn't keen on wholegrain, try making sandwiches with one slice of white and one slice of wholemeal bread
  • Try to keep lunchboxes interesting by using a variety of shapes like bagels, pittas and wraps
  • Make food fun as lunches can be more exciting if the child has to put them together, like having foods for dipping and makes a change from sandwiches every day.
  • Opt for low fat foods, like lean meats or fish.
  • Cut down on the amount of spreads you put into sandwiches
  • Always add a bit of salad and vegetables to the meal
  • Cut down on the crisps
  • Chop up some fruit or peal satsuamas and add those instead of sweets
  • Cheese can be high in fat and salt so pick strong tasting ones or go for low-fat varieties
  • Get the kids involved in making the lunch - they'll be more likely to eat it if they helped make it

"I do this the night before, never thought to do so for the whole week, I feel silly now,” claimed a fifth.
