‘This is the worst yet’, Vinted users rage as they spot Shein clothes listed as ‘vintage’ for 3 times the original price
VINTED users have shared their fury, after discovering items listed as vintage on the second hand clothes selling site that are actually from budget fast fashion sites such as Shein.
One unimpressed user found a top that was listed on Vinted for more than three times the price that it was originally purchased for.
Taking to Reddit, the user raged "Oh my god, this is the worst one yet".
Attached to the post was a picture of a pink strappy top, that was listed for £30.
In the description of the listing, the top was described as being from the 2000s, implying that it was at least 15 years old.
However, the Vinted user had found the exact same product on Shein for just £7.99, more than three times less that the Vinted listing.

Vinted lists under its that sellers are not permitted to list items that they have not purchased for their own use, but with the intent to resell them.
This means that buying items from Shein and selling them on Vinted for profit is prohibited.
Reddit users flooded the replies section of the post, to share their fury at this and other sellers who do the same.
One person said: "This is so annoying, because these resellers clutter Vinted.
"They list items wrongly and add so many search words in the description that it comes up if you are actually searching for certain brands/items."
Another person said: "People are so greedy".
A third added: "Its the person who actually buys it i feel sorry for.
"That’s ridiculous."
A fourth person said: "I saw someone do this recently with another Shein item trying to advertise it as a "rare vintage" product!"
A fifth remarked: "It’s the poor clowns who fall for this that I feel sorry for.
What is Shein and is it legit?
Shein is an online-only fast-fashion retailer, based out of China, that has become a number one shopping destination for many around the world.
The company was valued at $66billion in 2023, dwarfing that of popular high street brands Zara and H&M.
The fashion retailer was founded in late 2008, by entrepreneur and marketing specialist Xu Yangtian, also known as Chris Xu.
Shein is a legitimate selling website and is not a phishing scam.
But you may receive a disappointing order or run into shipping issues if you order from the site, according to reviews.
There have been swathes of quality complaints, which makes sense when looking at the price tag.
"Vinted genuinely doesn’t give a f*** about these sellers who are blatantly dropshipping and purposely reselling Aliexpress and Shein clothes at an insane markup.
"It’s really become a hellscape since these people graduated from Depop to Vinted".
