My husband took a business class upgrade and left me in coach on our honeymoon – then he had the nerve to complain
YOUR honeymoon is supposed to be full of romance and togetherness — but it could get derailed if one person leaves the other stranded in coach.
That's what happened for one bride headed to Mexico with her new husband, and she said his behavior after he snagged his business class seat made things even worse.
The anonymous 33-year-old was headed for a three-hour flight with her husband on what should've been a romantic vacation.
But it soon turned into a bitter argument when he ditched her for a better seat in business class before takeoff.
LOVE IS IN THE AIR?
She took to Reddit to share what happened, explaining that she had wracked up a lot of miles as a frequent flier.
These miles meant she could request an upgrade to business class, but since she was flying with her husband, she only wanted the upgrade if there was space for both of them.
The airline didn't seem to get the memo.
"I checked us in online, all is going well, and then when we go to board the person scanning out boarding passes stops us," she wrote.
"She says it seems that my husband was upgraded to business class, but ONLY him, and asks if that is OK," she said.
Since there was only one upgraded seat available, the bride said they wouldn't take it, seeing as how they were on their honeymoon "and would like to stay together."

But her husband had other ideas and took up the offer to sit in business class alone.
Seeing the shock on his new wife's face, he defended the seat switch by telling her he "deserves" the nicer spot because he doesn't fly very often and she does.
"To say I am pissed off is an understatement," the woman said.
"He is all smiles, taking his seat and I go back to my seat where they sit me next to an old woman with a baby on her lap where my husband should be sitting," she added.
SOMEONE'S SCARED
However, not long after boarding the plane the woman's husband began to text her saying he had anxiety about flying.
Still mad over the whole ordeal, she decided to ignore his messages.
Eventually, her husband did come to find her in coach to ask why she was ignoring him.
He even offered her half of his posh business class breakfast as he explained he needed her to reply to his messages since he was so scared of flying.
"I told him maybe he should have thought about that before leaving me alone before our honeymoon even really began," the woman explained.
RUINED TRIP
The feud continued after touching down in Mexico too.
She ended her post by asking fellow Reddit users if she was in the wrong for ignoring her husband's messages, since she knew he was a nervous flier.
But most people were on her side.
"It was selfish and childish of your husband to take the business class seat when you made it clear you wanted to sit together, it's your honeymoon after all," one wrote.
"It's even more childish of him to need you to virtually hold his hand during the flight — if he needed that reassurance, he could have sat with you!"
And a second agreed: "He thinks flying business class is more important than spending time with you at the start of your honeymoon. His priorities aren't straight."
