GARDENING fans are raving about a cheap buy that banishes moss from driveways.

It comes after a cleaning enthusiast took to social media to ask for advice on how to remove moss from her home.

Posting on , a public Facebook group with 418.6k members, Kathryn Mackintosh asked fellow cleaning fans: “Hi, best product to remove moss from a tarmac driveway?”

She then added: “Will also use a pressure washer but it doesn’t shift by itself!” 

Cleaning enthusiasts and gardening gurus flocked to the comments to share their tips and tricks on how to banish moss.

Many recommended the same solution - a £2 buy from Tesco - soda crystals.

And not only did many praise the effectiveness of soda crystals - but many claimed that this cheap buy will stop moss from coming back for up to two years.

One person said: “Soda crystals, sprinkle on, and leave for two days, then wash off with a stiff broom. It lasts up to two years.”

Another added: “Soda crystals once a year.” 

A third commented: “Soda crystals, just sprinkle over all the moss and leave it for a week. You will be surprised.” 

Soda crystals, also known as sodium carbonate, are a handy multi-purpose product to have in your home for cleaning.

Not only are soda crystals great when it comes to your laundry, but they will also remove moss on drives and patios, whilst preventing slippery surfaces.
