SHOPPERS are raving about a £6.50 cure for thinning hair - with one sufferer of Alopecia Areata saying it made bald patches grow back in just TWO weeks.

The shampoo is infused with a stimulant that has been clinically proven to hold hair growth benefits… and it’s the same stimulant in your morning drink.

The product is a £6.49 bottle of caffeine shampoo - the Alpecin Caffeine Shampoo to be exact.

You can pick up a 250ml bottle for the bargain price in Boots.

The idea behind caffeine shampoo is that caffeine can stimulate hair growth and combat hair loss when applied to the scalp.

It has been found to stimulate hair follicles by increasing blood circulation to the scalp.

And that is exactly what Alpecin has drawn upon to deliver serious growth for thinning or falling hair.

Shoppers have described the product as “amazing” and gushed over their newfound “thicker and stronger” tresses.

“I bought this shampoo a couple of weeks ago because I am suffering from Alopecia Areata and I had lost a lot of hair,” one reviewed.

“I developed random bald patches with some sporadic hair growth.

“I was looking for something that would be gentle on my scalp but give results - and this product absolutely delivers.

“Even though it's only been two weeks, I have noticed the hair is growing quicker and is thicker.

“In some areas, the bald spots are nearly all covered up, which for me is amazing.”

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Formulators at Alpecin designed the shampoo to only need two minutes on the scalp to work its magic.

“Alpecin Caffeine is very well detectable after being left on for as little as 120 seconds,” they said.

“If left on for longer, more caffeine will be absorbed into the scalp.

“Alpecin Caffeine penetrates even though the shampoo is rinsed out. In just a short time, caffeine travels along the hair shaft directly into the hair follicles.

“If the shampoo is left on for longer, the caffeine will also penetrate into the scalp.

“This shampoo does not contain any conditioning agents so your hair will immediately have more grip.”

The brand even has a patented skin activator that stimulates hair roots during washes and strengthens weakened roots.

WHAT THE COFF?

Caffeine has been found to stimulate hair follicles by increasing blood circulation to the scalp.

This increased blood flow can deliver more nutrients and oxygen to the hair follicles, promoting healthier hair growth.

Furthermore, some studies suggest that caffeine can inhibit the effects of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), thereby preventing or slowing down hair loss.

DHT is a hormone derived from testosterone that can cause hair follicles to shrink, leading to hair thinning and eventually hair loss.

Caffeine in shampoos has also been found to prolong the ‘growth’ stage of our hair’s cycle.

The hair growth cycle consists of three phases: anagen (growth phase), catagen (transitional phase), and telogen (resting phase).

Caffeine may prolong the anagen phase, which means that hair remains in the growth phase for a longer period, resulting in thicker and longer hair.
