Savvy shopper Nu Tran took to social media to show off her reduced find, leaving many open-mouthed.

Posting on Facebook, on , a private group with 155,300 members, Nu posted a picture of her large dry cured crackling gammon joint.

Nu confirmed that she bought her roast joint from Sainsbury’s, as part of the chain’s Taste the Difference range.

Originally priced at £26.01, that joint had been been yellow stickered three times, and eventually had been slashed to just 10p - yes, you heard that correctly.

However, the bargain hunter claimed that thanks to a Nectar card deal, she ended up saving an additional 4p on the buy, costing her a total of just 6p.

Thrilled with her find, Nu penned: “I picked this up about 6.15pm today. Closing time is 8pm.

“It was £5.98 and I saw the assistant and asked if it would be reduced further.

“She took it away to reduce as she was about to reduce everything else on the shelf.

“I scanned it and there was 4p off because of nectar. So 6p.

“A manager came out with 10p sandwiches and I said I got this bargain and he said it was a mistake as it shouldn’t have been reduced that much.

“There was another joint that I didn’t take and it went down to £1.49 from £25.99.

“So when they normally close at 10pm, they reduce it at about 8pm.”

Nu then beamed: “I was at the right time and right place, so it was my lucky day today.

“But I don’t eat meat so it’s all for my partner.”

Ways to save money on your food shop

THERE are plenty of ways to save on your grocery shop.

You can look out for yellow or red stickers on products, which show when they've been reduced.

If the food is fresh, you'll have to eat it quickly or freeze it for another time.

Making a list should also save you money, as you'll be less likely to make any rash purchases when you get to the supermarket.

Going own brand can be one easy way to save hundreds of pounds a year on your food bills too.

This means ditching "finest" or "luxury" products and instead going for "own" or value" type of lines.

Plenty of supermarkets run wonky veg and fruit schemes where you can get cheap prices if they're misshapen or imperfect.

For example, Lidl runs its Waste Not scheme, offering boxes of 5kg of fruit and vegetables for just £1.50.

If you're on a low income and a parent, you may be able to get up to £442 a year in Healthy Start vouchers to use at the supermarket too.

Plus, many councils offer supermarket vouchers as part of the Household Support Fund.

Social media users were left so stunned at the bargain, that many were convinced it was an April Fools joke.

However, Nu shared a snap of her receipt to prove that she really did nab the meat joint for just 6p, from a Sainsbury’s store in Holborn, London.

"BEST BARGAIN I'VE SEEN"

The Facebook post was shared 14 hours ago, and has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly racked up 464 likes.

Social media users were left open-mouthed at Nu’s impressive £25.95 saving, and many took to the comments to express this.

One person said: “Even though I don’t eat pork, this is the best bargain I’ve seen. I’d have grabbed it for that price too.”
