Foodies race to Aldi desperate to nab new biscuit bars that taste ‘gorgeous’, are just like Tim Tams & are 71p cheaper

But other food fans had the same compliant about the Aldi buy

FOR those who weren’t aware, food fans have recently gone wild after an iconic chocolate biscuit has launched in UK supermarkets for the first time.

Chocolate fans rejoiced as Tim Tams are finally available to buy across the country.

Originally inspired by British Penguin biscuits, Tim Tams were launched by Australian biscuit manufacturer Arnott’s in 1964.

They're comprised of two chocolate biscuits, sandwiched together with chocolate cream, coated in chocolate.

The beloved chocolate biscuits, hailed as "Aussie gold" by fans, are a favourite amongst foodies down under and Brits have been crying out for them to be launched on our shores for years.

Now, three different flavours are now available, including Original, Dark and Chewy Caramel and you can get them for £2.50 at Waitrose and Ocado.

But if £2.50 is a bit above your price range, then you’ll need to head down to Aldi to check out their affordable alternative

Food fans recently went wild after Tracey Buxton shared a snap of the new biscuit bars on social media.

Not only do they taste ‘gorgeous’, but they are cheaper than Tim Tams too.

Posting on , a private Facebook group with a whopping 289,700 members, Tracey shared a picture of the sweet treat and wrote: “Anyone seen these please? Like Tim Tams.”

Aldi’s own Just Divine biscuits come in two different flavours - salted caramel and milk chocolate.

The treats are part of Aldi’s ‘Specially Selected’ range, and are £1.79 a pack.

The ‘totally heavenly’ biscuits bars are strikingly similar to Tim Tams - as they are smothered in a delicately smooth milk chocolate.

Even better, they are 71p cheaper than the iconic Australian buy.

SHOPPERS BEAM

Shoppers were stunned by the Just Divine treats - and many took to the comments to express this. 

One person said: “I'll be getting those.” 

They’re absolutely gorgeous

Another added: “Getting them, salted caramel are my faves.”

A third commented: “They’re absolutely gorgeous.”

Whilst someone else claimed: “Bought them yesterday.” 

'PENGUINS IN DISGUISE'

However, at the same time, some food fans were left questioning the treats.

Many compared them to Penguins - a popular milk chocolate biscuit bar. 

One Facebook user asked: “Are they not Penguins in disguise?”
